The whole album production on Blizzard is less than stellar. Judging Randy's tone on the first album compared to the second album seems kinda pointless to me. I used to get really defensive when guys would slag Randy's tone, but that's just because I love his playing and the songs so much.

i'm like that. I consider myself an expert when it comes to most things RR so jump on most things on other forums about him

the thing I love about the Blizzard tone is if you read anything by Max Norman about the recording of the guitars you can pretty much hear everything he says....it almost feels like you are there in the room
