wow interesting to hear him play with that tone - what do you think that was? killer playing - note definition is insane!

I guess I'm the guy who will say I didn't like it at all. Not my taste in tone, and absolutely no feeling. Just runs.

If u can't hear some feeling/soul in some of those bends and vibrato's on the turnrounds then sounds like you're listening to everything but feel. He's obviously messing around too on a 4-track like direct into.

I understand that he's just noodling - but i guess we hear differently - there is nothing there to grab on to. He's fast. Yeah.

Yngwie...unlike other guitarists, he doesn't play things that are rubbish.

i can respect yngwie for what he does and the feeling he puts into his playing, but he is so fucking repetative

stay in harmonic minor and phrygian, throw in some diminished to connect the two and you immediately sound like yngwie. he's a gifted player in the sense of how he plays, but like others have said theres nothing to hook onto :)

thats the thing. u can imagine at this time or even 84' this type playing was over a lot of peoples heads because its just Too much to intake and your immediate reaction is..he's plays a shit load notes fast!. but if u were to slow this down just like some of his older recordings, u would actually hear some substance behind it and there is moments that he's actuallly phrasing some cool stuff. even though its not really a traditional blue's. i just thought i'd share it since it was really rare that i have never heard. Its like those early EVH recordings, he was repetitive as well and fast as shit. but totally different.

Not dissing YJM. I just didn't dig this piece. I wasn't saying anything else he has done isn't soulful. Very cool of you to share it. His technique is amazing. Others will love this. I just didn't dig it. Faster, tasty blues things for me are more Gary Moore-ish.

Yngwie could blow a fart into the mic and Anthony would think it sounds awesome

Same here....YJM is the master.

I wont comment on the playing because Yngwie is well...Yngwie  But I just love the fact that in 86 he denied ever hearing EVH and yet he is playing some EVH licks

it would have been great if yngwie had a decent budget to record his early albums with
if he had steeler/alcatrazz/early rising force chops, his first rising force band, and a killer studio and producer behind him, it would have been so much more

and no ron keel or graham bonnett ever!!!!!!!!

Ive always wondered what those early albums would have sounded like had they been recorded by a killer producer like Bob Rock/Mutt Lange or someone like that.

I agree. I also wish he would've let Barriemore Barlow loose.

Well said. A buddy of mine always said "there are three you should never talk about because you're sure to start an arguement...politics, religion, and Yngwie."
