rare yngwie in 86' noodling with Blues

the one that bums me out was the record shawn lane never finished with andy johns producing at record one studios in sherman oaks, where steve perry and joe satriani did albums---what was the story with that one?

powers of ten is one of my all time favorites but the keyboard triggered drums really sucked some power out of it,
and the live POT sounded like they recorded the drummer (who is amazing!) with a soup can and string

I wont comment on the playing because Yngwie is well...Yngwie
Well said. A buddy of mine always said "there are three you should never talk about because you're sure to start an arguement...politics, religion, and Yngwie."
:hys:

I used to Love Yngwie and I still do ,but to put this in perspective, I haven't listened to him in well over 15 years and I'm pretty sure Im not missing much and I'll leave it at that ;)

I guess I'm the guy who will say I didn't like it at all. Not my taste in tone, and absolutely no feeling. Just runs.

If u can't hear some feeling/soul in some of those bends and vibrato's on the turnrounds then sounds like you're listening to everything but feel. He's obviously messing around too on a 4-track like direct into.

I understand that he's just noodling - but i guess we hear differently - there is nothing there to grab on to. He's fast. Yeah.

thats the thing. u can imagine at this time or even 84' this type playing was over a lot of peoples heads because its just Too much to intake and your immediate reaction is..he's plays a shit load notes fast!. but if u were to slow this down just like some of his older recordings, u would actually hear some substance behind it and there is moments that he's actuallly phrasing some cool stuff. even though its not really a traditional blue's. i just thought i'd share it since it was really rare that i have never heard. Its like those early EVH recordings, he was repetitive as well and fast as shit. but totally different.

Not dissing YJM. I just didn't dig this piece. I wasn't saying anything else he has done isn't soulful. Very cool of you to share it. His technique is amazing. Others will love this. I just didn't dig it. Faster, tasty blues things for me are more Gary Moore-ish.

nah dude  trust me if i'm gonna hear real blues its not YJM! Yngwie is Yngwie. and yes Gary Moore rest is soul was as good as it gets. im miss that man as well as SRV.

Yngwie, not the guy I go to for blues playing. His lick library in the blues genre is very limited, IMO

  You forgot to adjust the package to correct size. :D

I wonder if Jimmy Fallon is actually into YJM or has him there as a circus attraction, as I'm sure most of his audience is like WFT is that.

Oh god

The speed / no feel train of thought, I dont even try to debate that one anymore. Yngwie has monster feel is all I am going to say.

I sometimes think Yngwie's biggest problem is that he had an entire record label dedicated to ripping him off for 10 or 15 years. And each and everyone of those guys Bach and Paganini as their main influences. Horseshit. They heard Yngwie and ripped him off cold.

+ eleventy billion

Cool tones and love some of the longer sustained notes- if he did a lot more of that here AND in his regular stuff, I'd enjoy it a lot more.

But say what you want, this guy is a true virtuoso of the Guitar.

Not my favorite style ( I like this better than most of what I've heard from him).

BUT - who the F am I to criticize this guy- he's truly a Master of what he does and even the Guitar, and I usually like his tones, and as one previous post mentioned the articulation is amazing on this, and he got some really cool tones here.
