I lived, ate, and, breathed Ratt from 84-87! Killer band and killer songs! Too bad some of our hero's just burn out from the lifestyle...! I was a huge fan back in the day....

Hell yeah...me as well. Loved those guys! Saw them 10 times from 1985-1989 (thought they actually sucked live except for maybe twice  ).

Ratt bassist Juan Croucher was with Dokken in the early days before Pilson, then joined Ratt, which was originally called Mickey Ratt.

I remember when one of them was so broke in the 90s he was cleaning billboards up near baltimore. Was that mentioned in the show? Hopefully they are back on their feet?

Wish I knew this. I would have had him sign all my Ratt CD's in between jobs :D

I think you're thinking of Brian Forsythe from Kix. There is some video footage from VH1 Where Are They Now? and it showed him putting up billboards -- Kix was from Baltimore.

Ding Ding Ding..........you are correct. I remember this story now. We opened for "Funny Money" (Kix' new band with most of the same personel) back in the 90's at some dive bar (I think it was called the "ZU" and had stuffed animals everywhere)  . They were cool guys and legends around here in Maryland.

Warren is a great player...Love this band. I still listen to them

When I was a teenager we watched this video constantly:

+1

and 'Lay it Down' is a staple everyone should learn

best part of that whole video is at the end when pearcy starts twitching saying 'and it still might be'

the drummers book is a good read to

Bobby Blotzer says: "He was weak anyways, man. His live show was embarrassing to me. Every review on our band said he sucked. I used to say to him 'Dude, if this was me and every review said I sucked. I would be doing something about it. You know you need to get out there and work the crowd.' He never did. He sucked! He's just an ego-ed, jaded, mean bastard. He's fucking miserable. Stephen has about one-tenth of his brain left, due largely to 30 years of 18 hours-a-day smoking weed and boozing. Not only did he fuck a list of people that is so vast, but ultimately he fucked himself and his family."

Even though all of that may be true, I personally think that its beyond uncool for Blotzer to write about that stuff...especially considering they had recently regrouped, toured, and released a new album.

I agree that was pretty uncool but then again it's no secret that Stephen and Bobby really don't get along too well. Back on their 2010 tour I had a chance to hang out with the band after the show for about 30 minutes and they were all very cool and down to earth except for Bobby who was walking around with a stick up his ass! Anyway, it was cool to visit with Warren about his Soldano SLO and also with Carlos Cavazo about Ronnie James Dio... it was during their show that night that they had announced that Dio had died of cancer. It was all very surreal... I had grown up listening to and idolizing these 80's rock gods and there I was in a sense consolling Carlos due to the loss of his friend, he had told me he and Ronnie had been very good friends since he was 15 years old and Ronnies death hit Carlos pretty hard!

Who cares. To me it's a mild diversion and pure entertainment. I liked the Motley book because it's a lot more entertaining to hear what actually happened vs. some smoothed over, polite reach around. What was cool about the Motley book was you heard from all sides about a situation, not just one persons perspective.

.....and Pearcy did suck
