The Marshall JCM800 came in a couple of formats and models too......

Models 2203, 2204, 2205...... Amongst them.

Aside from sharing some basic DNA with EL34s and a crossover with 5150s too......yeah.

The Lynx 50 and the amp models name.......

The BCP 2206...... by Bad Cat is aptly named and not by coincidence IMO......

It's the next evolution amplifier *_*

And I mean yeah as far as the gain range and the cleans this has to offer..... Them some tasty cleans and some dirty mean at the same time.....

And then cleans ain't bad for a "high gain amp"..... Aside from kicking as with high gain in general :dunno:

Stupid good deal I got it at and now stock is low too and they pretty much sold out or have very few left in stock..... 30% off and 600$+ off original price..... Fucking crazy!!!!

Can't believe the price I got it at and again so happy with this purchase *_*

Best way I can put it......

It takes out all the BS and things one doesn't like about a JCM800 or a 5150+/6160+ and only retains the good parts and makes them better.....

And yes it takes pedals well especially the bread and butter of all gain like the SD1 and OD808/,TS9 and Klones great *_*

MF still has a deal on these for 1800 and you can throw a 15% discount on them for the Holiday sales..... So you pay around 1500 for an amp that usually cost 2100.

So you can have them do that or have anyone else or dealers match that price too. These seem to be selling fast as soon as they hit the shelves now..... Get yours at a discount or get yours while you can and available this or any of the other Bad Cat stuff like their tammer AC/Vox style amps.

Plenty of dealers carry Bad Cat the only major one that doesn't is SweetWater that I can think of but otherwise many other places carry Bad Cat.

Bout a month later so happy I got mine...... And still digging it even got the matching cab for it *_*

People can't get these fast enough and stores can't sell them fast enough now too with or without discounts they just fly off the shelves.

Glad I got mine at a stupid good price and deal or no deal get one while the getting is good because they sell pretty fast it seems and are getting harder to come by too.

Yeah shits killer..... If your after a modern JCM800 sound and some 5150 + tones in a box but just better..... And a much simpler, straight forward package and no frills..... Yup this be it ....as said things sell out like hotcakes so keep an eye out and get one when you can ASAP

Here it is with the matching cab I got for it..... As said it's just pure tits and bitch screams and squeals all night long *_*

Glad I saw this thread, excellent review. Although Napalm's review is scary, I have a V30 cab and have high hopes here.

I just ordered one of these a couple of days ago. I paid $1,533.23 new after tax/ship, so a somewhat similar deal. Reverb outlet had one listed, not sure if that means open box return/used or what but it was listed as brand new and it should be here Tuesday.

I've been extremely happy with the Uber Ultra as pretty much my best amp ever but G.A.S. got the best of me. I had never even looked at Bad Cat before but I recently saw Ola's Hot Cat 50 mod video. I liked what I was hearing a lot and started down the Bad Cat rabbit hole. I saw his Lynx video along with a couple of other guys and was kind of blown away, especially for the price.

I am one of those way more gain and saturation than anyone would ever need type of players. That along with (in my opinion) the lower mid emphasis on the Lynx vs. The more trebly Hot Cat 50 mod that I heard made the Lynx a really cool amp that I felt that I must have

Glad you like it, especially after what seems to be even after the honeymoon phase. Super excited to check this one out.

I think it looks really cool too and a very simple layout to counter my overly complex Uber.

My only real concern is it being 50w. I highly prefer 100w+. Although some 50w heads I've had sounded absolutely killer, they all seem to fall apart at the volume I needed with a band rehearsal. I am now currently in a much smaller room so that should help and others have told me not to worry about that with this amp, I guess we will see.

Mine was brand new by the way......

But Guitar Center was selling demo models...... Musicians Friend sold them for the same price...... New or demo who knows but Musicians Friend listed them as new.....

And pretty much how I was able to have Zzounds match price for a new one and that was pretty much the only way I could afford it.

I already paid for a quarter of it in advance and plan on paying for another half by next month.

Fucking thanks Zzounds but yeah also check out GC and Musicians Friends and other places and small boutique places.

Thankfully SweetWater doesn't carry them...... Fuck them I hate SweetWater and another plus for the Lynx 50 *_*

I think where you'll be surprised with it is if you spend time with less gain and at the lower gain stages you'll really come to love some of those clean and broken up tones. Really fat, JCM800 like but richer and nicer.....

Honestly it reminds me a lot of a Vintage Modern too in that sense...... Very sophisticated clean/break up for lack of a better term especially with some PAFs.

But yeah the high gain tones are where it's at through and through and the big ass custom Iron Transformers do a hell of a job with making sure you have higher headroom than usual and overall articulation/definition IMO. Its not perfect but it definitely strives for it and is pretty excellent IMO. Add an SD1 or OD808 or stack them and yeah *_*
