Just ordered the Diavlo RD45H

Got some tubes to try so :

What's the layout for the pre tubes ? which one the PI (suppose the last one), which one for clean sound? for OD? for boost?
Is there a suggested bias? or the classical 70% ok?

I have the internal pics of the fortin modded rd50h, if you want
I suppose the layout should be similar

are you swapping the 6l6's for el34's?

I'll try the EL34 too...
I'd like fortin or maybe killertone to confirm us the layout of the actual RD45

MIke is in China so it may be a challenge to respond at the moment. You may send Killertone a PM and he may know.

I am on tour in Europe and Mike is working in China...I am in contact with him while he is there but it is limited to internet availability for both of us which does not always line up at the same time. Please be patient...

no prob killertone
I know you and mike will answer, and also know you have lots of other things to do!

Here ya go!

Facing the amp, left to right..V1 is OD stage 1 and 2, V2 is for the clean channel, V3 is OD stage 3 and 4. V4 is the PI.

Don't listen to the B.S. on using EL34's. I tried 3 different brands I had, and couldnt get the bias up past 25mA. Needs a mod for EL34's, I don't give a shit what's being said about using EL34s. Some only got as high as 12mA. I suppose if you had a pair hand picked rated hotter, MAYBE. I've owned 2 of these amps.

As for layout, V1 is to the far left, (looking at the front of the amp), the rest is self explanatory.

does it have a cathode follower on V3?

Killertone,

Did Mike talk to you about the boost? where is it located in the layout?
Thanks!

Yeah,I'm wanting to know the same thing.Maybe V3?

From Mike -

It's 4 tube stage in boost or non boost mode. There is no tube stage dedicated to the boost. The boost changes the gain and frequency points of 2 of the gain stages to give that effect. Same concept applies to the RD100 and Gain 2 channel....same channel as Gain 1, just switches the gain and volume and switches to different interstage and tube gain freq points.

thanks
that's what I imagined
probably cathode bypass capacitors are engaged

what about a cathode follower? does it have any?
tung sol pres tend to fail on a CF spots due to the higher voltage
