that’s my entire point though. People who “don’t believe the data” are not actually looking at the data.
Data and truth are also different things.

Data: I have to go to the bathroom soon

Truth: I had explosive diarrhea do you have any cleaning products

Data is evidence but not advance details of a potential given outcome.

I would say data is the purest form of the truth. Data is a record of something that happened. You ate a hamburger for lunch is data. The meat was 2 weeks past expiration is data. Your diarrhea was explosive is data.

To compare it to climate change would be thousands of scientists studying your eating habits over a couple hundreds years. And when they all notice “hey, every time this guy eats expired meats, he has the shits the next day”, you can eventually say that it’s the truth that eating bad meat gives you the shits.

And I’m saying you shouldn’t. More precisely my “opinions” on climate change are not shaped by predictions
That graph you showed way back — the up and down temp fluctuations —clearly showed the climate is always changing. The question of whether it will continue in a certain direction or not is predictive, even when based on uncontested data.

That graph shows an unprecedented rise in temperature, that is why it is worth taking note. Far more rapid than any natural cycle has shown.
And again, I don’t talk about predictions. Over and over again my stance on climate change has been we understand what co2 does to the atmosphere and we understand how much co2 we are putting in the atmosphere. To back that up, we have data showing a distinct, very unnatural rise in temps occurring directly after we started introducing massive amounts of co2 into the atmosphere. That is why I am comfortable saying that human actions are adding to climate change. It’s why I say human actions can also lessen climate change.

Can you repost it? As I recall the temps bounced back and forth between the extremes for millions of years or whatever and we’re just mean reverting from the lows.

There is definitely lots of ups and downs. It’s also been far hotter than it is right now or will be in the near future. What’s important to note is that the rise we are experiencing now over the last couple hundred years, has historically taken thousands of years to occur naturally, outside of something like a mass extinction event.

I don’t remember which ones I’ve posted but they all show the same thing

Just eyeballing it this recent rise doesn't appear particularly notable. We also don't know whether it will continue straight as it did 450M years ago or whether it will bounce back and forth like between 360-270M years ago.

A) maybe read up on what was happening around the times you put arrows on. Hint, that’s why I specified mass extinction events

B) you keep bringing up future predictions even though they don’t mean anything to me. What may or may not happen has no bearing on what has and is happening, and what has and is happening is that human made co2 is causing temps to rise faster than normal.

What’s with all the homophobic slurs anyways ?
"Gay" is a slur?

I'm not sure even "queer" is really a slur either "LGBTQ"

Really just about any word can be a slur when matched with the right angry, condescending tone.

Any cultural, ethnic or sexual identity when used as a pejorative can be a slur.

My sister is gay and I call her a Queer O Sexual, is that bad?

She did like when I called her my Bro-ster but got pissed when I asked if she had a Paginis.
