Reason #54 why I don't vote

Yep, Floyd is just a whiney bitch who's butthurt because I ignored him. Yet his head explodes every time I post. He should probably just ignore me. Is he addicted to rage?

Many people, especially idealistic types, substitute government for God. If you don't believe in a hereafter, then the tendency seems to be to look towards making the material world into a sort of utopia whether it's politically, or just trying to surround yourself with the finest worldly things. This is how many well intentioned systems became the most repressive of regimes. "We'll make it a paradise for the worker"....
Improving the material conditions of our fellow humans is a worthy goal. Reducing suffering is a net good, whatever you believe is beyond this plane of existence.

nobody's head explodes dude.
That's only in your mind.

I agree for the most part but you can put every man in a mansion with the best medical care, food, and living conditions and he still dies. Substituting the Lord with those things, and believing it's a net improvement, is a deception.

Pray tell brother, how should I treat anyone differently?

Dude is polite to me and complied with every request I made of him whilst he was learning the ropes / ascertaining the limits of what he can say here (remember, I'm the only one who's bant him temporarily, so there's that, but I digress), so I thank him, just as I do for everyone... every. single. time.

Consistency bro'. An emotionally-reactive mod might've acted differently, but is that what this forum really wants or needs?

Spoiler alert:
I'm not gonna change my moderating style any time soon. Sorry and no offence of course. I always appreciate your feedback brother.
I ain't asking you to do anything or change anything. Simply responding to your comment about "Say what you will about", etc. Pointing out that being respectful to the mods and being a piece of shit are not mutually exclusive.

Two things. First, you aren't ignoring anyone. You're a moron who pretends to ignore people because it's easier than not looking like a full on retard because you can't respond to their posts with anything resembling facts, only memes that have no bearing in fact. Second, no one here's head explodes about anything you post. That's called "Delusions of grandeur". I seriously doubt there is a single person here who thinks anything you say is relevant. Even the bullshit you post on the main forum ( which you only recently started doing after about 6 people pointed out the absurdity of joining a guitar oriented forum, but only ever posting about politics, and more specifically Trump, in the OT section) is an obvious attempt at misdirection since it's pretty clear you don't have a fucking clue about guitars or gear or music. From what I've seen you simply read what others have posted, then change the words slightly and post it as if it's your opinion. I mean it's funny how 6 pages in or something you come out with the " I only listen to the Tribute, never the studio versions", you know, after someone else said basically the same thing.

Not voting when people fought and died for my right to do it is not an option for me. I have a bunch of ex military friends , guys I shoot long distance with and hang with but 2 standout. Carlton Hooper was a tunnel rat in Nam, he was a bit older than me but we hung out a lot. He only spoke of his service and going into the tunnels 1 time in all those years, but that 2 hours of conversation had a huge impact on me and made me aware of things so horrific I realized I could not really grasp what those guys went through. He committed suicide 16 years ago after surviving all of that shit and coming home to people spitting on him. He was tormented by the horror of the tunnels till the day he died. He was an avid fly fisherman.
Lt Col Glen Frazier was a customer and friend of mine for years until he passed, he was the last survivor of the Baton Death March and he had a way of really putting things into perspective, a perspective that could only come from a man who had lived through so much horror and pain but ultimately turned it into forgiveness and even wrote a book about it called “To hell and back”
I have too much respect for the sacrifices of those guys to not vote. It is not an option. It is a duty paid for by men far better than any of us will ever be. I would vote even if I couldn’t stand the idiot I was voting for. Even if I knew my vote was futile and we were gonna lose.
People are free to vote or not. Lots of people choose not to for a myriad of reasons, but I’d be willing to bet none of those reasons would be good enough for them to even say them out loud in the presence of Lt Col Glen Frazier or Carlton Hooper..
It is the very least I can do to honor those guys and their service.

Wow. Thanks for typing that. It certainly puts things in perspective. I will admit, I went for awhile there of not giving a fuck and not voting in my 'mid-life'. Too busy and didn't care for either candidate was always my excuse.

I used to think that a no vote was still a vote. :dunno:

You can always do a Write In vote and put in whomever you want, even if it is yourself, or spouse, or me, or whatever. :D

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought @JDs Couch admitted being Phoney Iommi?

If not, who are you?

No one joins a guitar forum only to go straight to OTC to stir things up. Except maybe @Beater or @bagels n cheese or @Stripped Rights or @Blazing Saddles / Picasso or any number of others who have come and gone.

In the last election I voted for Hunter Biden and Fat Albert.

Phoney was Canadistanian. Coochie boy is in New Zealand. Which is a vassal state of Australistan.

OK. Thanks. For some reason I thought he was from Canada. Like the rest of them that complain about America when they've got their own problems.

He could be Phoney. It doesn't take much to like about where you're from. They do have similar posting habits. Then again all our resident deranged leftists post in a similar manner; like they've been fed the same talking points and share a single brain cell.

Yep. Could be and probably is using a proxy.

Similar but not completely I think. However, I could be wrong. It happens once in a while.

I found this place after getting fed up with nonsensical bannings from TGP. I lurked for a while and finally had to join so I could "virtue signal" in OTC as many say. I just wanted to stick up for some ostracized people is all.
