I picked up an ESP/LTD EC-401FM in Black Aqua

Dropped in an EMG 57/66 Set

Picked up a Gibson LPJ

How do you like the EMG's? How different are they than a 81/85 set?

And nice grabs all around!

I like em a lot. They seem like the perfect "hybrid" pickup - very open feeling like a passive, yet tight and punchy like an active. They respond very well and are quite articulate. I was kind of surprised as to how great they sound. They are definitely still active sounding/feeling while feeling a lot like a passive. Weight wise they are heavier than a standard EMG as well.
