So for the second time in a year, I've had a Presonus Firebox mysteriously die on me.
So I'm done with Presonus for good. I'm in the middle of a project, but I'm not going to waste any more money on another used Firebox. It worked great, but I they shouldn't keep dying like this.

Looking for something in the $300 range, doesn't need a lot of inputs (no drum recording), good quality pre's, firewire preferred, but USB is ok. I use Apple Logic on a Macbook Pro.

Thanks for any help.

I'm hearing lots of good things about the Apogee line, that's the first place I'm going to look.

Used Apogee Duet, or Focusrite Forte. I have both and they're great. The Forte is a little more but worth it. 2x4, works with both Mac and PC, and sounds huge.

I've read a few posts about firebox going down.. mine is the firepod which i have also heard of having problems but mine is still kicking.. I would say the apogee stuff would be worth looking at.

Thanks guys, the Apogee Duet looks like a winner and much more portable and IOS oriented.

If you have Firewire, those are going for right around $200 used on eBay right now. Grab one!
