Hello 👋 So I just got the Brainworx Friedman BE-100 and the Diezel VH4 Amp Plug-ins and I'm getting uncontrollable feedback on both amp sims whenever I go to arm a track in Reaper DAW??

Running Reaper DAW and using a new Teyun Q-12 USB Mixer Audio Interface into Windows 10 Pro HP ProDesk 600 G2 MT computer through my older Altec Lansing 2.1 computer speakers.

I'm somewhat of a novice with computer recording and any help would be greatly appreciated!! 👍

Definitely a feedback loop by the sound of it.

Re-examine your routing.

I'm not a Reaper guy but that's where I'd start bro'.

Usually when something like this happens to me, I have some other plugin on on top of the one I’m trying to record.

Turn every virtual thing off and start with a clean tone just guitar into daw. Then turn things on one by one. I bet you’ll find the culprit real fast.

Thank you 😊

Probably need to mute the channels on your Interface Device..
Just use and Monitor thru your Software..

Yesterday I got the Teyun Q-12 USB Mixer Recording Audio Interface working and I was able to test the Friedman and Diezel amp plugins, the latency changed and I went from 0 latency to now there's latency and I've got it about as good as it's gonna get & sounded like garbage! That Teyun Q-12 was $30 and is very cheap and limited in it's capabilities! 😡

What's your budget for something worth keeping??

Funny I see this because I was not impressed with the ground floor hum in all 6 great guitar plug-ins I got from Brainworx except the Mesa clone. The Mesa had a low ground floor hum followed by the Herbert. The Friedman was the worst (I stopped using it), unusable unless you were always playing notes vs sustaining.

I have tried a lot of hum killing options starting from the guitars and the cleanest signal I got was Jensen DI into Mytek interface and channel insert top row #1 was Plugin, even that wasn't great unless I used the Mesa Plugin.

I don't know exactly how they created these but if it's a profile like aspect then the ground floor hum wasn't clean initially and it really shows up.

I have all the real amps I bought the plug-ins for ex Friedman and I'll go real amp every time for any important recording.

AFAIK the brainworx plugins use traditional modelling.

Kemper Profiles OTOH (I can't speak for other flavours of profiling but Kemper invented the concept), will give you a hum / noise-free result even if you profile an old, broken, shitty amp that hums & pops like Hell.

Well spent some time yesterday and just a little bit ago dialing in the Brainworx Friedman BE100 amp sim some more, got the latency down a little more and slowly but surely getting the plugin to sound better in the Reaper DAW 👍

That's great mate, but what about the feedback issue? Is it subsiding or did it disappear altogether?
