Can someone give me a rundown on the OCD? I'm thinking of grabbing one to boost my recto, but I'd like to keep it on at all times, even when going clean. Will this work, or is it a pretty dirty box even at minimal settings?
I have a V1 and I use it with a carr hammer head, mine is always on and I use other pedals with it to really drive the amp.
works well for me

I have the original and it DOES SOUND GREAT!!

This is the Video that sold me..........

A/B test with the TIMMY and Danelectro.

My modded SD-1 boosted my tone.....but compressed it and took out some mids.
The Danelectro Transparent Overdrive Made my tone sound HUGE!
Best 40 bucks I EVER SPENT on gear!

...Another good one for the rectos is the OD808.

I have heard a bit about this as well, and people say it really tightens up the bottom end.[/quote]
Yep. And thats exactly the area the recto need the most help IMO. For metal anyway.

The Danelectro sounded pretty good but i clearly liked the Timmy better there. For 30 or 40 bucks though you can't go wrong with the TOD.

I Love my Zinky Master Blaster!

"Master Blaster™ is designed for use with all styles of playing, is extremely quiet in operation, has a highly versatile tone control, and can be plugged directly into a variety of amplifiers. Most notedly, Master Blaster™ can add up to 9 dB of clean volume to an amp without coloring the tone in ANY way at all. Master Blaster™ can also be set to add a treble “shimmer” to the tone, or conversely, to “warm up” an overly bright tone. Master Blaster™ includes separate tone and volume controls, and a true bypass footswitch for on/off operation, all powered by a 9V battery or 9V power adaptor (included). The Master Blaster’s electronics are housed in a rugged brushed stainless steel case with eye catching graphics and a dazzling blue LED. As with all Zinky products, Master Blaster™ is made exclusively in the USA by Zinky Electronics."

My favs are the Babrber Direct Drive and the Keeley modded SD-1

+1 to this, and add the Keeley modded TS808 true bypass and the Keeley modded VooDoo Sparkle Drive (a Keeley modded ts808 plus a clean boost). All absolute winners.

Empress effects para eq with boost.

will allow you to have any pre distortion eq shape you like, trim bass like an 808 add mids etc... it also a ton of boost available and is ridiculously transparent.

It removed overdrives from my board forever. I have high gain amps that i never max gain on, I didnt need a pedal to add more distortion but was enjoying the benefits of the 808.

I had a friend scope the 808 i was using at my settings so we could see the eq curve. promptly dialed up something very similar on the ParaEQ, set the boost for desired level of punch and turned the gain on the amp up a smalll amount.

Ended my "neverending" quest for the perfect overdrive pedal; NONE!

I've tried dozens (most of the ones mentioned) but I have yet to find one as good as the Z Vex Super Hard On. Works well for both clean and dirty tones...awesome pedal.

Wow, that's looks to be a really nice boost!

But what's up with the freaking "crackle"?

OK, I like the idea of it, but do I have to find the parts and built it myself?

I am a bit of DIYer, and I have a good iron and such, I guess I just need the parts...
