Hey fellas... looking to get two nice leather straps... was curious what you guys were using...

I have a special request for one of them though... all leather straps I have tried...when you put them on they don't slide at ALL... and I am just way too used to being able to slide my strap around my shoulders (does that make sense?) and most leather straps stay put, that's ok for one of them, but for the other I would like the underside to be "slick"...

Looking to spend around $75... no more...

Thanks fellas!

3 inches is pretty short

I have a Fender leather strap that I consider perfect. I put some leather conditioner on several times a year and it helps to 'slicken' the rough side up a bit. You should be able to find one that would suit you though. If not, find a leathersmith to make you one.

Haha... that made me chuckle... I have found plenty that are suitable, but none of the descriptions really say anything about the inside of the strap ya know? Hard to tell if I will get that "slick" feeling on the one i'm looking for...

I have a good one; I'll measure tomorrow and take a pic/find a link. I know exactly what you're talking about; I use the slick one with my LP; the one I use with my strat has a 'sticky inside' that bugs the hell out of me.

Levy's boot leather strap has a slick leather back, moves pretty well.

Call Karma Collars.

Amy is the owner. She makes dog collars. But she'll make guitar straps too...now that I talked her into it.

I don't have any pictures, but the quality is BEYOND IMAGINATION...and your price should be doable. I swear the leather is a quarter inch thick.

I really need to get pics...

This one is 2 inches. The main strap is 1.5" wide...then there's a 2" piece for the shoulder. It matches a dog collar I had made...that's why there's all the "bling" on it.

I don't know if 3" is an option...I prefer wide straps...and I wouldn't want this one any wider. It's SOOO comfortable. It slides when you want it to, but stays put too. It's perfect, and I'll buy another soon. Also notice that the strap buttons have to be removed to take the strap off. She offered to make the slice up so it could function normally, but I asked for only the hole so the strap couldn't be removed. Just 1/4 inch holes.

Let me know if you want more info or different pictures.

Jodi Head's straps are slick on the inside, they are a couple bucks over what you need but you might wanna check her stuff out, hand made by her in NY and pretty cheap seeing who her clientele are and being USA made

I really like Get Em Get Em straps or whatever they are called.

+1

I have meanwhile four 2,5'' Head straps. All are in their way unique and pretty perfect.
