So, the Schecter standard series is redonkulous...

Understandable; I didn't even think of that option too.

So we have:
SS = Stainless Steel
SS = Super Strat
SS = Single / Single (Dual single-coil)

Schecter USA stuff is top level. They tend to use Jescar nickel frets by default (they call it German nickel silver or something odd).

If it's not advertised with stainless frets, I would assume it's nickel.

Agreed, I was impressed when I played one at my local guitar-shop-that-actually-gives-a-rats-hat-about-making-sure-the-instruments-are-playable-off-the-wall.
Same. My local shop just picked up Schecter, and it's been good for them. They told me before they made the buy-in, and asked if I wanted to pre-order one. I was after the C1 Silver Mountain in Toxic Venom, and committed. By the time they got the funds together for their buy in, that model (finish) was discontinued.

Congrats on the guitars @D-Rock . Very nice looking.

Won't photo bomb you but here is my C1+.

Bought it new on sale for $300. Swapped the pups. Love the frets. It has been my drop C guitar DR Tite Fit 11s btw. Soon to become my E standard.

Yeah cool and all, but for fuck sake I curse Schecter everyday for not delivering anything with their V-1 shape.

Also, I believe this forum (and too many others) do not consider their USA line as viable option, which is a shame

I had a schecter reaper 6 elite. Awesome guitar with a wenge neck, just wish they had a thicker neck carve more similar to PRS pattern regular or even slightly smaller like a mayones regius. Im sure you can custom order it but id be worried about a custom order without playing it first. There have been some really really cool builds coming out of the USA custom shop though.

That blows.

I have the lower-tier plain Reaper 6, and it's also an awesome guitar. Funny enough, I love the neck. I played one off the wall at a guitar center when I was last looking for a new axe, and immediately realized that I'd made an expensive mistake.

Dragonburst?

Schecter guitars have always been high quality in my experience.....they just went through quite a period of the worst aesthetics ever which turned a lot of people off

How's the weight of the guitar? I ask because one of my local shops had two that I loved the sound/look/feel of but they both could have been used as a boat anchor. Strat style guitars should not feel like they are 12lbs. Wondering if they just ended up with two heavy weights or if that is the norm for them.

Can't speak for the others but the C1+ is in the 7-8lb range. Another reason I like it so much. Much lighter than my Fender strat and the C1+ has a mahogany body.

Glad to hear it is not too heavy. I'll have to give them another try.
