Recommend me a stereo multi-effect unit for Soldano X88-ir setup

I keep thinking about ordering one of those....

It's a weird pedal. Couple of things to know...

1) Don't bother if you're running mono.

2) It's not true bypass, the Input Gain (volume) is active at all times. I'm using a MusicomLab Parallelizer where it can be switched out of the signal path.

In stereo with the settings shown below and the Input Gain (volume) bumped up a bit it is absolutely glorious. There's a lushness and immediacy to the analog choruses that seems to get lost in my digital chorus pedals.

I'd recommend sticking to a rack unit for FX if you have a rack preamp and power amp. It makes everything that much more convenient to carry, setup, and use.

Also worth noting that most rack FX units have multiple FX that you could run both before and after the preamp section. You do that, it's a hell of a lot of cables to accommodate.

Don't forget, in case of a system failure, it is much easier to diagnose if it's just a single rack unit malfunctioning rather than one amongst a dozen pedals.

If you go Axe FX, it will pretty much have everything you need. The FX quality is also top notch. Plenty of inputs and outputs to send stuff to FOH, monitors around the stage, your own personal monitors, etc.

Since the early 90s I lost count how many SLO 100s I owned.
This preamp is what the SLO 100 should have morphed into through the decades that they never touched the original circuit.
Meaning, that by now the SLO 100 should have three separate channels, and each should have their own separate EQ.
That said, the preamp kicks all kinds of ass. I love it. I would never want an SLO head while I own this, there’s no way.
100% agree! The reason I opted for the. 88-IR was the theee fully independent channels.

Eventide H90
This only if you set up the computer connection to manipulate the settings. Getting into the unit is like playing sega street fighter when 5 button presses make a move. The computer app manager is key and makes this unit killer.

I have the blacked out one. It’s still in the box. I ordered it 7 months ago! Lol! I’m still intimidated…

In the rack: Eclipse; or go all out with an H9000. Or get an Axe-FX III rack for effects only.

On the floor: Line 6 HX Effects or Boss GX-100 (using effects only) in 4CM.

The H9 is like that, totally unusable on the pedal, but the H90 has a decent interface. I was able to dial it in just using the pedal. But agree the app is good and makes it a lot easier.

Yeah. It’s a chore to do it by the unit itself. The computer connection is stupid simple. Point arrow…. Click.
