hi!
can you guys tell me which cabs/speakers you´d recommend with the m4 plus the rt2-50....?
i´m playing t/d, vx, sl modules plus the eg5...so actually i´m very anxious about lower gain vintage tones, but also needing a modern, fat eg5 sound...so yes, i want it all...;-)

actually, at the moment i´m using a harry kolbe 1x12" cab with an EV 100W speaker and a very light hughes&kettner 1x12" with a greenback in it...i use them both at a time, and that´s o.k....but i can´t really use one of them at a time...the EV isn´t really good for cleaner vintage tones (while it´s pretty good for higher gain sounds), and the greenback can´t do the fat, modern sounds...but of course i´d be happy to find one single cab to reach a similar or even better result as with both of mine played together...

is there an cab that bruce recommends specially with the m4+rt2-50...?

thanks a lot,
rudi

I Agree with Doubleneck that the V30's do well with pretty much all the modules. I also like the Scumback M75 60 watters with all but the highest gain stuff.
To me, the best results are from a 412 cab with V30 and or Scumback M75, but I also like the oversize 1x12 with a V30. Unfortunately, the best way is experiment and that can get expensive.

I have a V30 4-12, GB 4-12, and a Basson 4-12 with (?) in it. * hmm, i should post clips :) * Anyway, I prefer the v30 cab as it does pretty much everything very well all around. I never really like GBs so I am probably going to replace the speakers with V30s as the cab is unique. The Basson is excellent for new tones esp metal and (very) hard rock - has the most low end out of any of the cabs. I do need to experiment with some 2-12s but right now I'm broke :/

I'm currently using an open-backed 2 X 12 fitted with one Weber alnico Blue Dog and one Weber alnico Silver Bell. Both are 50-watters; I run the RT2/50 in switching mode. The combination yields a very full sound with robust bottom end, strong mids and nice sparkly highs. The cab is perfect for vintage tones but is strong enough to sound good with more modern hi-gain settings. I'm using DLX/DLX, VX, SL2X, and COD modules.
