For daily playing, I use a Pandora PX-3 that plugs into my computer's soundcard.
This Pandora has clean and overdrive effects. It's just a simple and tiny setup with no dangling wires anywhere.
No amp. No pedals. Just a guitar cable going into a small device on my PC.

The main reason this is my standby is because of the looper feature (with drum beat)
Play a progression, then play lead over it. I use it constantly.

I have a Boss GT-6 and power amp that I almost never use.
I think it's just because the Pandora is so easy to just plug into with a single wire, with all the rest bundled with the PC cables.
It's too easy to leave the amp and giant floorboard unit tucked away under the bed.

I wonder if I should try something besides the PX-3. But, I need looping.
I have a Boss Loop Station but never felt like it worked right.
Playing lead over the loop would always degrade the signal.
Is that Boss loop station considered outdated junk by now?

What is your non-gig home rig? What do you use for a looper?
I wonder if it would be worth updating to something used, but more modern than my 2001 and 2004 setup.
Like 6 POD?

buy my px5d!
;-)
pretty sure it has a looper, just never got around to playing around with it much to find out.

and since you asked, home set-up ( I never gig and don't have a band) ENGL Savage 120=>Boss GT-10 (in the loop)=>Splawn 2x12. The ENGl still sounds amazing at lower volumes, so works fine for bedroom levels. For recording, I just replace the cab with a torpedo C.A.B and go into my interface (profire 610)

This has got to be the most important topic for any guitar player.
What do people use? This is the single more important part of your practice rig, which is 99% of all your playing at home.
