Unfreakinbelievable.

Ibanez RGA121 (Mahogany body, maple cap, fixed Gibralter bridge) with Dimarzio Mojo at bridge (Didn't touch my Les Paul Custom all day). Straight in for most of it, but on single note stuff and heavier parts I boosted it with a Fulldrive II Mosfet (set real clean, just boost). Into a Hermida Audio ported 2x12 with Vintage 30's.

With the talk in another post about quadruple tracking, I intended on doing just that, but after I double tracked everything it seemed to me absurd to do two more tracks. It's the thickest tone I've ever recorded. Just unreal. Man that thing is ridiculous. Just amazing.

My band is a pop/rock band and the guys were floored after listening to the tracks today. I thought they might be unsure of it because the tracks are so heavy, but they absolutely loved it.

Sorry, no tracks yet. I just wanted to mention that that amp is just incredible. Old news, I know, but........

I'm doing my whole album with a Triple Recto. Love it.

I've been playing a Dual for years and I still feel that way whenever I get to turn it up some.

Is it one of the new multi-watt ones? Congrats on the grab bro! Can't wait to hear some clips.

I used a MK Mesa for years and dug it but it never quite had enough balls for me. Well, don't have to worry about that anymore. This thing is HUGE!

No, I don't think so. I think it's older. How can I check??
I'll post some stuff up when I get some. We just did basic tracks on three tunes today. We need, guitar overdubs, keys, bass and vocals. It may be a while, but we are getting together to work again next Sunday. I'll get a mix pre keyboards.

do you have a recto revisited 2010 or an earlier model?

would love to hear double tracked recto tones if you've got the time to post them, sounds awsome

the first time i ever heard a 5150 cranked i knew that was for me. i know there are better and bigger amplifiers out there, but thats not my thing

What blew me and the other guys away was how good the cleans sounded. For years I've heard people talk about how the cleans are no good. Mine sounds great. As good or better than the cleans on my JTM45, and I love the JTM45.

A player could easily use this amp for everything. It is LOUD though!

Earlier model.

I should have some roughs by next Sunday evening. Pre-eq, just raw tracks. But from what I was hearing, the tracks are HUGE.

I have to say, it's not a metal tone. I'm not a metal player. I was on channel two in Vintage mode, but with a LOT of gain. Absolutely no Recto fizz at all. Just fat ass rock guitar tone.

I did switch it to channel three for a couple minutes, we all had some great laughs and I switched right back over to channel two. :D

Very cool..big fan of the Recto stuff here (see signature). I really think they are the most under-rated of the higher rated amps, if that makes any since, haha. Despite their popularity, they seem to get a bad rep. "Can't do lead sounds, one-trick pony, metal only amp". I don't agree with any of that.

I also think the older Single Rec's have something special about them. I've played tons of different models and years of the Recto's, and have never heard one sound quite like my current Series 1 Single Rectifier. Hit it with a boost, and it's awesome.

How about some shameless self promotion? :)
Single Rec, boosted with my Bad Monkey. Playing my Les Paul

Same rig, with my Ibanez RG-770DX

Cool vids man. I like the tone boosted with the Fulldrive Mosfet. Made a very cool "alive" tone. Most of it was unboosted though.
Can't wait to plug back in and do some lead stuff with the Recto. I plugged our engineers Petrucci EBMM guitar in (Crunch Lab) and it was a shredfest. Man that guitar plays like butter! We all were digging the Petrucci. GREAT guitar. Loved the Recto with a TS-808 boost for leads.

I never understood why people said this. The rectos have excellent cleans! Not just passable, but better than most high gainers and as good as some of the best channel switchers IMO.

Not all Rectos have had excellent cleans... There's a world of difference between the cleans on the original 2 channels (which didn't even have a clean channel) to the 3 channel and on to the current 2010 Recto.... with a lot of stops along the way (T-Verb, RK, Roadster, etc).

And, once something becomes an 'internet truth' it can be very hard to change it.

My 3-channel's clean has always been killer; both before and after modding. Super rich, stays clean at any volume depending where the gain is set. I think they get a bad rap because it is pretty easy to make them sound bad, and most people that plug in for the first time don't understand how the controls work. Very finicky amps indeed.
