My issue isn't that impulses don't sound great, it is just that I liked my own sound better. The problem however is that I don't find the twonotes impulse generator to be that intuitive. The setup confuses me still somewhat when I look at the diagram. I know you need a poweramp to pump sound back through your cab but will the quality of your converters not affect things like they would reamping? If I could get a snap shot of my own setup, I would use it a hell of a lot more and my wife would be MUCH happier. All the great impulses I tried sounded good but then I would compare to my 57/cascade FH and I'd stomp my feet like a 12 year old. Hey Pete how about you run us through the setup if ever you do a follow up vid? Great vid though.
PS- I listened again on better headphones today and was really surprised how much clarity the hotplate sucked out. I use a hotplate with a suhr line out box so very strong possibility that this is what has affected my ears. I thought using the line out negated this but you were right a while back when you emphasized the load. Similarly, the two notes load had a bit of a similar effect but was clearly better than the hotplate. I liked the Suhr most. Fryette might have hyped the highs a little to my ears.
