So I recently moved from my trusty Digi 003 rig to a Presonus Studiolive running into Logic Pro X. I have a 2014 iMac running Mavericks. I used the rig a couple of weeks ago with no issues but today , my SL is not showing up in my midi devices. Tried rebooting , reseating cables etc. Anything I need to do? Im sure my computer has had a couple of updates since the last time I used the rig , but I wouldn't think that would affect my Audio Midi setup. Thanks!

Sorry for your troubles.

I am no computer whiz but the only idea I can offer is check to see if there are maybe some driver updates since your install?

Probably not the problem but it is something I would check.

Hi. I have a very similar rig (PreSonus Firestudio into iMac running Logic 9) & have experienced similar issues recently. A few things to check when i encountered my issues:

- I assume you're running Logic in 64 bit mode?? You MUST have the correct driver for either 32 or 64 bit mode & there are different drivers for each mode
- Presonus drivers are located in various places on their website! I found a blog about 64 bit Presonus drivers specifically for Logic 9 & some instructions about how to manage the issues - also with a link to the latest driver located on a random Presonus page
You should hopefully be running PreSonus FireStudio 4.1.3.17357 driver in 64 bit mode
- I've had a few issues with the firewire cable that connects mine to the imac. Please ensure all units power are completed turned off at the wall & re-check cables (im sure you've done this but try it again anyway)

Good luck

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Avid stopped issuing updates on the 003? I used to have a Digi003 and bought it right before the new ProTools 7 came out because there wasn't any support for it. Did that change and there are updates now?

I'm no longer using the 003

try uninstalling the PS software, restart, reinstall (make sure to get the correct version for mavericks, 64 bit), connect hardware, restart.
Fixes similar problems 90% of the time.
it might also be a faulty firewire/whatever cable.

For the interface. I'd try what Xzyry said as well. Reinstall everything and see if to have the latest drivers.

Very basic troubleshoot but had to do that with my set up so I figured it's worth a try as a first step.
