What do I need that would essentially have an input for the speaker out from my amp, and two outputs…one would go to my cab…the other to my interface for the IR.

Anyone know of such a thing? I wouldn’t mind if it had IR loading capabilities as well (as long as you can bypass them) but it’s not a necessity.

You run the XLR out straight to your interface. No load, no complications - I use this for exactly what you're describing, and sometimes with a Suhr load instead of cab. The line out of this seems to work better than the Suhr's.

Some regular DI boxes could also work, but I've found headroom problems with them - they are designed for passive guitars through to electronic instruments after all, not cranking speaker level.

Or some amps (e.g. Friedman BE100) already have a line out. You can easily add a line out to your amp if you're that way inclined - it's a couple of components and very simple to do. You can use a speaker jack usually.

Has anyone used the Engl Cabloader? If so, can you bypass the IR?

Suhr iso line out? Or maybe just get a reactive load so it’s there if I need it and can still use the thru to my cab to bypass the load.

All you need is a 25-100k pot, if your level isnt too high you dont even need that

I've slapped IRs on the line out of my amp direct into an interface and it worked great ?

I've gotten solid results just by running a cable from the fx send of my amps straight in to my interface with IR's added in the DAW

Just add a line out to your amp from a speaker output. It's been mentioned 2-3 times now
