Hey all, I have had little to no experience with Rectos in my playing lifetime. I have found a couple of profiles for my Kemper that I have had a good time playing around with. I notice that they all sound different. Not every amp sounds the same and everyone may record/profile them differently.

I recorded three clips of the same tune with a different Recto profile. Is there one you prefer? I like them all for different reasons. Of the three there is one that sticks out to me most but I will reserve my opinion for now. Thoughts? I left the profiles unchanged with just very minor EQ tweaks.

The tune was simply to show off the profile and its chugging abilities. All the guitars are mine over the backing track.

First off Freaking Awesome

I would say 3 on the rhythm 2 on lead.
2 appears brighter and more upper middy.

I think in the context of syncing with the bass drum 3 fits the best .it got more chunk and weight.

I like all 3 its tough as they are all useable and sound great

Check out the Rhecto profiles ray hanky posted a week or so ago, they are pretty killer too.

I would say I like 1 and 2 the best and fit the recto sound. One thing I wonder about when these profiles are made is what are the mode setting, using tube rec or diode, spongy or bold. I know on my triple rec reborn these settings make the amp sound totally different.

All sound good to me...but I like them for different reasons..LOL

I'll check these out when I get home.

Got my 2008 Dual Rec coming tomorrow.

mic placement and room is everything- making all these tones so different...I think I like 3 because it has more girth, 1 seems to much am radio-ishness in the tone.I would try the Frankenstein method- switching around cabs until you get a combo that is magic- I stumbled into Pete's Fortin with my Rhecto cab and knew immediately I loved it. A few others tried my Rhecto with a Tills cab and liked it, but that wasn't great for my own signal chain/style. I say mix it up!

Woah....listened to 3 only and daaaaamn it's sounds like the real deal.

Thanks fellas! Any other thought from anyone?

I will say I have never played a Recto before so I just don't know how to dial these in. I think I like #2 the best but have fun playing all three. They sound awesome through the poweramp and cab.

I like them all but 2 stuck out.

They all sound great. The Kemper is fine.

Awesome! I miss my rectumfrier:(

Like em all! I'll have to listen tomorrow with headphones.

2-1-3 for me also. #3 sounds nasely. They all sound fantastic.

Thanks fellas! I believe the #3 profile is a mini Recto. Here is what I used:

#1- The Amp Factory Dual Recto (from the metal pack)

#2- Sasha's Dual Recto

#3- Soundside (Armin) Recto

There are a handful profiles here to play with. I really didn't tweak other than some EQ'ing but I am learning how to play with the Recto since I never played one for an extended amount of time. I played a Road King years ago but didn't know what to do with all of the options. Either way, fun amp profile to play around with.

results revealed....interesting!
My comments were based off my cpu speakers, decent JBLs, but not my DAW monitors.
I think I like them all for the heavy rhythms, but not so much for the higher lead lines

2 points

listened again on headphones .I like 1 as best rep of the Dual Recto .
if 3 is really a mini Mesa did a nice job of getting some of the vibe for sure

They all sound great, I liked #1 best. The other two had that typical low mid, somewhat dark, Recto sound.
An other thing I wonder is if some, or one of the clips had an 808 infront when profiled...that can mislead you regarding the Recto's natural ability.
