The Snorkler doesn’t have the same Bogner tone they’re known for. There’s less low mids and more snarl

It doesn’t have the Bogner chewyness to it which honestly makes it sound like just another modded Marshall circuit. Just listening to the clip I couldn’t tell it was an origin mod, Jake mod, or just something else. It also sounds mild to my ears, definitely not on the high gain side. It does however sound very musical with no offending frequencies or other annoyances. Kinda reminds me more of a Friedman mod.

I see what you guys mean based on these clips, but the Bogner modded JCM800 I had and Snorkler 50 I still have if anything could be the chewiest and most tonally rich in the low mids Bogner’s I’ve played through. They are more aggressive, raw than what Bogner usually goes for and I think not as fat/big in the low mids as some of their other amp models, but for actual chewiness and richness of tone itself in the low mid region I’d easily put mine ahead of any Shiva, XTC or Uber I’ve played including even my Rev 1 Uber for this particular department. Nothing like Friedmans IME and they have a unique sticky feel almost reminiscent of Naylor, but not sharp, tight and fast like Naylor

Agreed, it sounds really good but I’m not hearing anything Bogner about it.

The sounds in these specific videos are too polite for my taste. I like more aggression. I bet this amp would sound good with a little less gain dialed in and a boost in front like the TC Electronic Integrated Pre. Might help keep the supposed chewiness, along with adding more of that aggressive snarl I like.
