Least Illinois takes good care of thei State Parks.
My cousin retired from Cave in Rock SP after as Site Super 40+ years.
Spent every summer there living in the park for decades. Usually had one copperhead bite every year.
Their son has lost his mind on the booze & drugs hopeless case cuz daddy fixes everything.
Now been indicted by Grand jury for elder abuse.
Tried to kill his parents for drug money. They wouldn't give to him.
He's under the "delusion" he's a "biker" he aint/
Looking at 10 yrs Mississippi State prison time. Don't wanna be in MS prison Bro.
Just got out of Illinois SP less than a year ago.
No job, no money, no retirement, i tried for 10 yrs to help him.
Whole family has cut ties. Its a mess.
I believe in miracles i see them everyday. He'll be lucky to survive another prison stint.

Entire Northside, county out to 270 and East side is fucked. We used to make forts out of the huge asbestos blocks they left in the forests by Surrey Lane. We hung out in the abandon concrete plant. It was a wild time.

Great place to groew up. Not the same now.

Lost a shipmate NAVY buddy during covid Pekin Il. no smoke / no drink, height weight proportoinal.
Worked out, hellava guitar playa, Played like Kim Mitchell one of his idols.
Just straight up died from covid. No health issues prior.
That one got me. Still stunned. Most Illinois is farmers who are getting hosed royally.

As a good friend of mine who recently got a poor health diagnosis sez : if you're thinking past today you're in trouble.
Floyd sounds more balanced than my crazy Fuckin cousin. Who also was in the NAVY.
In first grade we played the game "telephone" we'd sit in a circle, teacher would wisper "a word" in 1st person's ear.
By the time it got all the way around last person would repeat the "word" and it would be completely different.
Thats what happens here, i make one post bout one thing and 15 or 20 of bascially "the gang" runs wit it and next thing you know im an
"axe murdered escaped from death row".
And ..... thats whats wrong with this whole Fucking country they all doing thesame kinda shit.
As for God ... yeah i know God, a faith greater than myself cuz i ain't it. And neither is anybody esle.
