Can anyone tell about how the Reeves Super 78 sounds? How would it compare to something like a Wizard Modern Classic or Soldano SLO? I heard it's similar to the Friedman Dirty Shirley but brighter and more saturated. So far the my Wizard Modern Classic is the best Marshally amp I've tried, but I'm still very curious about this as well as the Bogner Helios.

I don't remember it having near the amount of gain as an slo or a wizard mc. The one I played had a thick tone to it although not overly dark. Member James lugo use to have one I think , u may be able to find clips of his or a vid from his amp fest. Maybe you can pm him. I remember some saying it was supposed to be able to do vh1 style tones but there's other amps that do that better.

I owned one....hated it. I've owned dozens of amps and it was one of the biggest disappointments IMO. Stick with a Wizard or Firiedman if you want something Marshally.

hmm...I wanted a Reeves amp really bad at one time and never got ahold of one. Now I'm kind of glad I didn't. I honestly can't imagine a better hot-rod marshall type of an amp than a modern classic though-probably my all-time favorite.

Very weird EQ shape and gain structure. Flubby bass, high end was either to harsh or not enough and I felt like there were not enough mids. The amps voicing was unique and not really in the Marshall camp.
