So I bought a Charvel Model 2 body on Ebay for $89 a few months ago...

I'll be doing the clear coats soon... Maybe this weekend if the weather is ok and I'm not too busy. I'm really nervous about applying the clear for some reason. Scared I'll screw it up.. :D

I just had a Trixter moment. :D Looks cool. Gold or chrome hardware? Needs a "zebra" pickup.

By the way what amp are you using these days? Plexi? Bogner?

Looks like you did a great job, I would think if you got this far with no problems, the clear wont be a big deal. I would as you said wait for good weather, and the right temp. I agree with yngzaklynch, she needs a zebra

It's looking pretty good so far. What are you using for clear coat? Lacquer?

The only criticism I have is that the neck pocket really shouldn't have been painted. Paint can build up in there and mess with proper neck alignment. Looks really nice, otherwise.

LOL! :D Yeah it's very 80's!
Unfortunately, I already got an all black JB... Couldn't find a Zebra trembucker anywhere!
I was tossing around the idea of covering the pickup with that plastic emg-like cover and painting them to match the guitar... But I'm not sure yet.

I was actually thinking of all black hardware. Although chrome or gold would look good too. Chrome is good because it's cheaper! LOL! :D

Believe it or not, I've been playing the Revalver ALOT lately... When I'm not using that it's either the Splawn or the Plexi. I played the Bogner the other day and I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe it needs a retube and V30's.

I remember old BC Richs and Charvel/Jacksons in lavender type colors would often come with gold hardware.

Thanks man... I have no idea when I'll get around to do the clear coat. Not sure if this weekend will work. If the humiidity remains low I may start it this weekend. It is freaking cold in NJ though... I keep the paint and body indoors, spray it in the garage then bring it into the basement where it's dry and comfy... Otherwise I'd be waiting until spring! LOL! :D

I bought a can of Deft from Home Depot. The guys on ReRanch.com like it. I believe it's Nitro.

Thanks man. I didn't paint it. I taped it up. I did get like a coat of primer on the neck pocket early on. I forgot to mask it off. But it was masked off for the whole painting process. I could probably scrape off the primer from the neck pocket when all is done. I doubt it will be an issue though. It was like 1 pass or so.

Yup... That is/was a common color-scheme. I'll have to Kisakae a couple different variations to see which floats my boat the most.

I will tell you this... Refinishing a guitar is HARD!!! I see why people charge hundreds of dollars for this kind of work. It's just tedious.

So what's the name of this new guitar did it change from 'baby blue' to 'purple people eater' :D

Nice job

Well it can't be the Purple People Eater because that's the name of my purple '71 Marshall Super Lead 1/2 Stack. However, this guitar was meant to go with that amp... :D
