Yo BR!

Nice choices - GGTN & Dogman. Just more material that shows the depth of this special trio.

I think after playing all of Moving Pictures & Permanent Waves at band rehearsal this evening my fav power trio of all time next to King's X is no other than RUSH.

I'll definitely have to check these two gems from King's X once again after my ears subside from my Herbie beating the crap out of me this evening.

They truly are one of the all time best.

Best songwriting.
Best musicianship.
Best live performance.
Best all around great guys.

Myself, my wife, my children, my immediate family and my friends all agree with the above...really!

In fact I have hosted many summer events at our home and have introduced new friends to their catalog with my playlist (which is about 6 to 7 hours of shuffle play music that includes KingsX) and the new friends and guests to these events speak out and ask..."who is this, this is great".

Just saying...

I got to see them play in the Mackie room at NAMM 2011. All I wanted to hear was Dug's bass coming out of his cabs live onstage.....and obviously the whole band, but his bass tone is just IT for me. It was everything I hoped for. :D

Later that night at the Dean NAMM Jam I was in line to get some drinks and my girlfriend pointed out Dug standing right next to us. Got to chat while we waited in line and even cooler was after, he just walked over with us where we were watching the show and stood right next to us throughout HellYeah's set. I had a few that night, I was familiar with most of the tunes they were playing and screaming my ass off which got some chuckles and a high five or two from Dug, the highlight of that entire weekend, which was highlight after highlight.

These guys should be huge.

Love King's X! I never get tired of them! Unlike most, the have it ALL together imo. Great songs, tones, playing, and Dug is one of the best rock singer of all time imo.

Blame their professional mishap to the onset of Grunge.

"So what happened to Kings X: the Future of Rock? Grunge happened.

Simply put, grunge turned out to be the future of rock instead. Sometimes that’s just how it goes.

Kings X’s guitarist Ty Tabor had an unusual guitar sound and style. But Kings X were not a grunge band. And after Nirvana conquered, although Kings X continued to make some excellent albums (Faith Hope Love, Dogman, Ear Candy), these perhaps lacked the impact of the first two records, and their moment had passed. That noisy planet carried on its business, listening to something else instead. It was the planet’s loss.

I just don't get how they didn't blow up with Dogman. That album fits in just fine with all the stuff coming out in the mainstream early 90's. STP, Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Collective Soul....it's crushingly heavy musically at times, heavier than some of those bands I mentioned, with these beautiful vocals on top that would seem to tickle ANY ear.

I've played many shows with these guys - they are awesome, and great guys to boot!
