Renegade no volume from EL34

The title is slightly deceiving, it's LOW LOW volume. So low that you have to crank it all the way up to get any sound and obviously at that point it's distorted badly and buzzing.

I have swapped 2 sets of working EL34 tubes (tested and working) and it makes no difference.

Please help! I can't afford to have it fixed by someone else, and I am extremely disappointed. I feel like I tossed $1300 down the drain... I've even considered selling my telecaster thinline just to afford to fix the amp, which I'd then have to sell to buy a guitar again. (Shouldn't have sold my AC30 to buy this.) Sounds better than the AC30 but way more reliability issues

Forgive me if I'm ignorant but wouldn't a fuse result in the amp not working at all?

There are several fuses in your amp. The HT fuse(s), if blown, would only "disable" the high voltage to output tubes, and the amp would still power up and have lights. The "main" fuse and the "HT" fuse are accessible from the outside of the amp. There are other fuses also, besides the main power fuse and HT fuse(s), that are inside the amp. Only a blown main power fuse would result in the amp not working at all. A blown HT fuse would indicate a bad output tube.

Have you swapped out pre amp tubes??? Gotta try that as well.

I didn't realize that. I looked up the schematic and found the fuse... yeah, sure enough the one of the EL34 side is blown. What a PITA... ugh, such an easy fix. I'm going to go pick up a new fuse in a little bit and let you know how that works out.

Not exactly but I did play musical chairs with the preamps and nothing changed. So moving them left by one spot and doing a full cycle didn't change anything.

Although... I am having a secondary problem with something and may open a seperate thread if this fuse issue don't fix it.

Alright, well the problem is solved. The volume on the EL34 is back.

My other problem is still there and that maybe be a preamp tueb. Either way I'm going to start a different thread for that, just so it doesn't confuse anyone else researching a potential problem with the same amp I have.
