My brush was probably a little too broad also but it does seem like the love and tolerance on the left has decreased drastically since the 90's and that had been a core part of their message. If you meant it in the same way, then yes, I understand your perspective. I think it's safe to say that love and tolerance for others is on the decline across the board these days, unfortunately.

Well, that's kinda irrelevant, because they would be wrong. But yeah, those sort of christians exist also. They are actually the ones who either aren't christian, or are just ignorant. Awareness of orthodoxy in the west is rising to previously unseen highs right now so I think for some it's a defense mechanism trying to stop the outflow of people from various protestant sects into orthodoxy, which represents the fullness of the faith.
