MURDERATOR
Mid 80’s Kramer 400st v. Floyd rose standard bridge. Standard nut. Looked kinda like it could have had a locking nut at one time. Just an odd looking cut. Someone apparently did some nut work and it was all fucked up and not square at all. Hopefully pictures will show what I mean. After removing the old nut I straightened everything with my fret files. Worked great. Decided to go with a brass roller nut. Traced the radius on it and then used my bench top sander to start sizing it. Thought I had it and installed it. Still a little too high. Still counting it as a win and not really that complicated to do. Helps to have a little knowledge of equipment and guitars I suppose. My equipment is outside on my back deck so I will fix it when it warms up. Anyway here’s some pics…..these are the new nut….

Nice Work! Once you've got everything square and the radius correct, height of the overall nut is a comparatively minor adjustment. I love projects like this!

This thread would hit harder if the title was Dropped a New nut on an Old Guitar. Be that as it may, it takes brass balls to install a brass nut. Kudos
