-- Returning a guitar on ebay , insight needed on disputes-

The seller has now offered me a partial refund through Ebay, about 20% of what I paid. I am considering it, Im wondering if the refund would be given instantly if I accept ? It came through in an official message from eBay, not a personal message from the seller.

If you file with both Ebay and PP, Ebay will null and void your buyer privileges. File with Ebay only first and give them a chance. File a dispute for item not as described.
If they aren't getting it done, file with PP. The buyer wins almost always. I had a buyer return a guitar to me with scratches and grime all over it. I still lost to the buyer and had to pay all the shipping. A seller not accepting returns means nothing.

I have taken that route before knocking off a few bucks might be worth it. Then you don't have to deal with the shipping bullshit and drama

You deserve all your money back. Ebay will make seller pay for shipping through PayPal and you have a 30 day return policy covered by eBay even though he say no returns. Make sure you document tracking number when you return guitar or else you are not covered.

Shit sometimes if you like the guitar that can be the difference. If you like the guitar it's worth considering. YMMV, IMO, ETC, it's up to you.

I agree , especially with guitars. If it were an amp then not as much but guitars are so personal. Most of us have found out that a guitar from one to the other from the same builder/company will vary . When you get one that plays and sounds the way you like my opinion is that you don't let it go.
