I'm pretty sure I found my old Gibson Explorer on Reverb a few minutes ago. I can't prove it though. My uncle showed up one day with this Gibson Explorer in a Gibson Custom Shop Case. He said he bought it from a buddy and gave it to me. I was 12-13 years old. First nice guitar I ever had. He knew I loved Explorers (big Hetfield fan). A few months later, he took it back, and I never saw it again. He pawned it for rent money and booze.
He clearly bought it from whoever stole it, as it was in new/perfect condition and had some custom shop appointments. Black pickguard, covered pickups, and top hat style knobs. All done by Gibson at the factory. It's a weird piece. I'd do anything to get it back, but I can't prove it's mine, and don't have a dime to my name.
If anyone is in the Chicago area, the guitar is in Palentine. I grew up in central IL, so I guess the guitar didn't make it too far. Here's the link.

I would love to buy it, but there's no way in hell I can do that. I am in debt up to my ears, and have to find a new place to live next month. It would be so cool to have my first "real" guitar back though, assuming it's the same guitar. Maybe someone here will be interested, and give it a good home. That would make me feel a lot better.
