Reverb prices

Reverb takes 5% and another 2.89% for PayPal or 2.5% for reverb payments. The 5% charge includes shipping charges too. When you have something worth 3500, thats $300 in fees not including shipping supplies and shipping.

It just cost me $360 in shipping (we split it) to ship my Gibson from CA to MD. Shipping costs are out of control right now.

Legit people on reverb are not taking a bath on their gear and honestly after all of the bullshit arent collecting $4600.

Also remember people have to pay sales tax in some states for items sold regardless of transaction amount or number of items sold as a state law.

If you buy on reverb all of that is in play. I sell on here or marketplace now. I don’t bother with reverb to sell if I don’t have to.

Id like to know who made reverb the world authority in music gear pricing.
Too much power & control for one company.
Gotta be some anti-trust violations involved.
They need to bust that company up.

I’d like to see another company to compete with Reverb? Lower fees and run payment via PayPal, like the old Reverb.

Someone here spent money and started one.

No one jumped to it. So he shut it down.

I’m looking at the “deals and steals” section of reverb and there’s hundreds and hundreds of guitars at normal prices. Yeah, everything everywhere is up right now especially hard to find stuff but in general it’s no where’s as bad as this forum makes it out to be.

Damn, completely missed that, obviously, and would’ve checked it out.

There is a still a market for something besides Reverb.

Why would anyone sell on Reverb with the fees being nearly double that of eBay?

I sold a Mark V last week for $2,300 on eBay and fees were like $145 (tax put the total near $2,500 and they charge 5.85% of that total).

Also since they charge fees on shipping totals as well, check out goshippo.com. They give better rates than eBay or Reverb and you can insure more as well.

That is just your typical price for someone who is just casting their fishing line out and seeing what they will get. It’s gotten more common recently for sure.
And if you are selling they are helping you. Just list yours for 25% less and hope it moves.

Agreed, that or telling the wife that he’s trying hard to sell it.
