I agree it was a huge blunder that penalizes hobbyists and collectors; while their goal was to tax the “pinterest and ebay sales are my income” crowd that has gone relatively untaxed before. Stupid to include.

What a surprise - our representatives from both red and blue have no clue how normal people go about their day to day.

Pretty amusing as it was all Democrats who voted for it.
 
Yeah I do not like the idea of paying tax on used items. One I want whoever is buying it to come away with a decent deal and that is harder to do after reverb slaps their fees, then taxes, and then shipping.

Sometimes it's not worth it to buy used.

Even that seems low. It's a tax on the profit from $6k gross sales which seems like a tiny amount of money to go after. But then $600 was so roflmao-low that it seems like an improvement and many of us won't exceed $6k so I guess it IS an improvement.

I just never saw the IRS actually going after the tax on the potential tiny, tiny profit I might have made on a tiny, tiny amount of gross sales...of items that I most likely bought at market value. So I never (and still don't, even with all the IRS hiring) took it seriously.

Stuff I bought on eBay years ago, they have no history of the purchase now. IRS can really put the screws to you in an audit if you don’t have your ducks in a row.

I don’t wish to give out my ssn. Your ssn is a sacred and secret number that unlocks your life to those who wish to do harm upon you. And it’s for that reason that I seek the absolute and total destruction, obliteration, and annihilation of scammers the world over. Die scammers!! The worst filth alive is the scammers who rob senior citizens of their life savings.
 
My selling days on reverb ended over a year ago, before all this BS. I'm so lucky i'm happy with all my gear and have no need to sell anything.
 
Write your congressman. Hate Reverb for the right reason like their bloated fee structure

Almost all of them from both sides did - it was part of the “pork” in the recovery act.

Id like to know what congressman proposed the damn addendum
 
Fuck these garbage eating nazi maggots. I had a balance of $400 from LAST year I forgot about and since I stoppes doing business there after wanting peoples first born I never updated my information. Fast forward now they want your ssn so a used item can be taxed endlessly and they 1099 your ass. They can suck my hanging sac. They won't send my balance until I update my info. I'm like the fuck I will, I'll file a complaint with the state commerce department?
