So y'all may remember I did that gorm board and jumped into the world of effects. Love all the pedals I got but between switching the Splawn footswitch and the various pedals I have been using it was getting frustrating.

Here's the old guy:

So, most of all my gigging now is with the corporate band and my Splawn rig and pedal board was way too muc to keep bringing to shows. Our drummer uses a V-Drum kit so my amp was overkill as it was. I was looking at the Kemper, the DV MultiAmp and a few other modelers. Ended up grabbing the RP1000 for under $300 new from zZounds. I have used it with an Alto powered 10" wedge and it fucking slays. Sounds great to FOH and has been really easy to get GOOD (not passable) sounds out of. Also much faster to set up than my other rig.

Here's the new board. Nice, simple, way less cables, much lighter, etc.:

I haven't had a chance to 4CM it with the Splawn yet but I will this weekend. If it sounds good, I'll be offing my individual pedals. The only things I don't like about the RP is the tuner fucking sucks and I am not THRILLED with the way sounds but they are definitely usable. I may keep the Crybaby From Hell but at the end of the day, most people would think it sounds fine out front and I want to keep it easy.

To be honest, I really don't want to run effects with the Splawn if I don't have to. Never really been an effects guy but whatever. I am only using it with my punk band (Cherry 2000) and I certainly don't NEED effects for that stuff.

I have been eyeballing the RP1000 for a number of reasons for a while. Curious about one thing if you could check out for me as I am not sure if it is capable of doing:

The RP100 has a pedal loop feature that allows you to use external peadls if you like. Ideally I would use the 4CM to be able to turn boosts on out front and delay effects in the loop at the same time with just one switch. Obviously this will work with all of the integrated effects within the unit. What I want to know is if you can assign the looped pedals to the presets or are they just kind of separate. Basically I want to be able to hit one switch that turns my delays on in the loop while turning my Timmy or EP Booster (inserted in the pedal loop) at the same time. Not sure if that would work, but would be cool if it did. Be nice if it could also change channels on the amp at the same time, but I know I'm asking too much there.

I posted the question over at "TheStompBox" forum. I am fairly certain the unit will NOT do what you are looking for but it would be cool if it did.

I am not using any additional pedals outside of my tuner so this is a non-issue for me.

OK thanks. Still a cool little unit for the things it can do. You don't see them come used as much as you used too.

Here's

"Not sure if I got the question clearly. Let's just say you are in patch 11 where you are only using effects within the RP1000 but then want to go to patch12 that will have the signal go through your pedals to use their sounds and then want to go to patch 13 that, again, is only using sounds from within the RP1000, then yes, the RP1000 can do that. It will turn the effects loop on and off without you having to go to a switch on the RP1000 that turns the loop on and off. The patch number will already assign that when you choose it, the effects loop will be activated. Your other patch will turn the loop off again."

I'll definitely get some time in with the RP and the Splawn. I've been toying with the idea of selling my individual pedals but not sure yet. The RP is SOO easy to get dialed in I was surprised. Been very happy with the direct tones for the corp gigs. I'm sure the GSP sounds even better. May upgrade at some point but right now I don't see it as a necessity.

No you sure don't. Got this for line $279 for zZounds on scratch & dent. It was imacculate. I think it was a return as the box was thrashed.
