The JVM was a big let down for me . But I know everyone is different. There’s one for sale in here for $1500
Agreed. I liked it on its own, but when compared side by side with other amps was a let down for me as well

It just didn’t have the roar of a Marshall. I have my first amp still which was a
Tsl100 and it still can roar . But ya jvm can be dialed in goid some still . So I feel ya

It depends on the expectations one has.
If someone is dead set on the real thing, he/she should buy the real thing, otherwise it would never be enough. I've been there, done that.

While it might not sound 100% like the real thing, which is something to be expected, it's very close and gives you the versatility as well.
It's a Marshall.
Of course it's got the kerrang and roar of a Marshall! It's not an one trick pony like the real deal, so you have to spend some time with it.
You have to play it loud so the amp can breathe. Masters above noon FIRST, then set the channels accordingly. Leave presence and resonance out of the game.
OD2 orange it's like a JCM800 boosted with a boss OD-1 for a heavy JCM800 metal sound.
Same goes for OD1 orange, just not as brutal, more like a hair 80s sound.
OD2 can also give a very authentic Plexi sound with some crazy settings.
Once you know how to dial it right and the sound fills a 4 x 12 cabinet, you're in business.
Of course you can have these sounds at lower volumes with the JVM, that's the cool thing about it. Just not as magnificent as playing it loud though.

Here's the man himself (Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden) playing one. It's a JVM210H but you get the idea:
