Ritchie's home town is LA?
Yeah - he lives in Laguna Beach...

Steve

Hometown is actually in Jersey...but he has a home in Laguna Beach.
Well, yes, I understand that he was born there... His home town now is in CA...

Understandable...and he does play great! They are missing Richie's vocal in the chorus...it's a signature part of that song. It's missing on a lot of the Phil X videos I've seen. At least they're offering refunds this time to anyone that wants one.

Yeah, I could see missing his vocals because he has a very recognizable timbre. Phil does have a great voice, however, although one might not pick that up from only his Fretted Americana vids because those are winging it and singing just in the room.

He does great here, although it's not Ritchie's timbre.

Who cares? Grossly overweight single moms, and homosexuals - that's who.
+1000

Who is 'Phil X'? Any relation to Malcolm?

He does have a great voice but it ends up sounding like a really good cover band singing Wanted. Nothing wrong with that but not what I'd pay to see.

LOL, yeah, except he's playing with the actual band. This is how much we're different. I checked ticket prices for the LA Staple Center show because Phil's playing with them whereas I've never been to nor would likely never go to a Bon Jovi show otherwise. I'm not going, but I did check and it's just way more money than I'm willing to spend and the seats are lousy.

Smoking guitar player, not something you'd be interested in. Move along now...

To me it's not the actual band...but I get what you're saying. The most I've ever paid to see Bon Jovi is $65 for a seat...I don't care who it is, I won't pay ridiculous prices.

I'll tell ya, I saw Bon Jovi awhile back because Dina wanted to see 'em and they put on a great show. Not a show I would have gone to myself, but I really enjoyed it and thought they were pretty damn entertaining.

BTW - I dig PhilX's singing on those Fretted Americana videos. He sounds great if ya ask me for just belting it out for a goof...

That's because you're a Ritchie fanboy. I'm a Phil fanboy.

Not really a fanboy...just respect what he's accomplished. I used to be a Van Halen fanboy. I own just about everything VH. I barely own any Sambora stuff.

Yeah, I'm figured they're still selling huge venues for a reason. I think I'd enjoy it too, even without Phil.

I'll have to bring over The Drills CDs next time we hang. I think you'll be pretty blown away at his voice in the studio, in fact, I think you'll dig the songwriting too.

FANBOI! <pointing finger at SkyhighRocks>

Trust me, you're a fanboy. The sooner you come to grips with it the better off you'll be.

I'm into that!

BTW - just worked a deal for this baby (Nik Huber Hollywood Krautster)! Gonna stick a set of Bareknuckle Mississippi Queen hum-sized P90s in it (black plastic cover in the bridge, aged nickle in the neck) and RAWK!

NICE!!! I am LOVING my Les Paul. You should get the PX-100. ;)

I dunno man - I've heard some clips of those Mississippi Queens and they seem more like the vintage RAWK tone I'm wanting out of this. I think the PX-100 has too much output for the sound I'm hearing in my head for this fiddle...

Yeah, the PX-100 is definitely hotter than a vintage P90.

Ritchie def brings the vocals over Phil X. He has tone.. but seriously, how f-cking slow and boring is Bed of Roses?? Could they be playing it slower than the album?!!! Jon Bon also can't really hit a lot of his notes anymore so you'd think he'd keep the tempo up. I like Bon Jovi but they def did way too many ballads.

I would still argue that "These Days" is one of the best records of the 90's. Without a doubt.
