Yeah, it's gotta be torture to play simple, straight up rock music to sold out coliseums and stadiums filled with hot milfs every night.

Yea, I'd be ashamed of myself. Good thing they came out in the 80's

I think his point is, their music sucks. It's lame, and uninspiring. Even in high school in the 80's during the rock/80's metal scene, I couldn't stand it. Yeah, they made money, yeah they had hits, but it still sucked.
Richie is a fine guitar player, I'll give them that.

Bottom line for me is if I played music for a living, that's a gig I would jump on anytime because I'm fairly certain it comes with a decent salary, even to just Phil in.

The leader for RT Clever Quip of the Year...

Yeah, stupid rock stars and their long hair and stuff. It's disgusting.

The harem and liquor closet usage probably has it's draw...

I think Phil might be to much energy for them   Phil is a tremendous player and a great guy. I met him a few times back in January myself :) I think he will do a fantastic job and the vocals he will get. He has a great ear and pitch. It's no secret Jon and Richie's vocals have tired with age. Phil also has the charisma to bring edge back to Bon Jovi..if Jon lets him get loose. More then likely he's using a Friedman or Richies 4 Friedman BE-100 setup. He seemed to enjoy the BE-100 over the Evil Robot during the NAMM activities. :D I've always liked Richie as a all around musician. I think Phil is a excellent choice

Superunknown (Todd) took this picture of Richie's rig last month :)

Yes but it doesn't include expense reimbursement.

Oh, in that case...well, it's good they've such a monster player Philing in :D .

I just saw the show in Des Moines last night and Phil X did a great job. He was playing thru a Friedman and a one cab tilted back on stage. It sounded absolutely massive! I thought the show was great but I have never seen them with Richie (would have liked to been a fan since I was a kid). Either way Phil X was top notch as was the rest of the band, Jon sounded really good to. A few of the newer songs kind of run together for me but overall no complaints, hell of a nice light show!

Phil X is really perfect for the job. If someone call him, he will be back at the same performance.

Any more news on the reason Richie left? I read that Jon has said that he has not talked with Richie -- they got a phone call at 3:30 day of show, saying that he'd not be able to be there for a personal reason. It seems that if everything was 'fine' that Jon would at least know what's going on.

Nothing yet...it's still a bit of a mystery. His daughter is carrying on like usual so hopefully that's a sign that he is in good health.
