this post got me itchin to play my rig w/d/w for fun
ive stuck to w/d live because i play a mono house and w/d seems to translate better than trying to sum w/d/w to mono
anyway one cool feature of my rig is all i need to do to go from wd to wdw is plug an additional power amp/cab to the right output of my gforce and call up a preset i've programmed with 3 way wdw sound in mind.
this was a clip i made today with my fender super champ xd set clean as the middle dry core platform.
tyler classic strat with tom holmes 450 bridge/ fletcher landau standard middle and neck single coils->
boss v wah set for univibe that you hear at the end of the clip->rivera/glab GSC-1 4 loop switcher with following pedals: barber tone press/arion sch-1 japan chorus/vertex modded plexitone overdrive/custom tone ethos
out of the rivera switcher i put an isp decimator always on set at noon, and a tc flashback delay, which i used to create the loop i solo over, out to the xd amp input.
so those last two pedals are always in the path and available.
tweaks:
the xd has RCA 6v6 power tubes, and a green tone grinder solid state preamp tube, and i'm plugging the speaker out of the xd into hotplate to send a line out to my gforce, and the speaker out of the hotplate to my tone tubby hbomb 2x12 open back cab loaded with one green ceramic and one red alnico hempcone speaker.
so the clean is tone press compressor->arion chorus->amp->hp line out to gforce "landau" patch (comp/verb/delay/chorus/parametric filter) stereo out to a tech 21 power engine with a scumback H65 on left out and crate poweblock set for mono into a hughes kettner closed 1x12 loaded with an EV 12L on the right out
dirty sound is the rivera switching off tone press and arion, and switching in the plexitone high gain mode, and gforce switches to a delay/verb patch. you hear the gforce switching patches going from dirt to clean, but it's quick enough it doesn't kill me. the rivera is quiet and instant with the pedals.
if you hear some clams, up yours....you try playing that tune
