I still have all this shit, plus a bunch more that I never photographed................ Amazing that my GAS cure came down to "One Guitar" & "One Processor".............

How're you powering your Axe? Power amp, PA, Atomic Reactor?

Howdy Hoff! I'm going direct to PA & using an RCF 310a monitor for my stage sound. Love It!

no kidding =0

was it down to just tones or also the simplicity/size factor ?

some killer gear there, i'm still to try an axe fx, but i've found what i wanted through pedals->clean amp

cool rig.i'm sure you can get plenty of great tones from it.yeeeeesh!!!!!!!!!

i'll decide when i try one heh, i'd really like to borrow one for a few days or something to get to grips with, 1700 euros for a 15 day trial and maybe longer is quite an investment, but judging from what you've gone through it almost seems like money well spent lol

So are you going to start selling off some of your other gear?

I am GASing for an Axe-Fx, but its going to be a long time before I can afford one.

im at a point where it seems i would be a perfect candidate for one, i just dont have that kinda cash and dont see myself being able to make a purchase that big for a LONG time.

Me too!

Nice, I guess...

That Jackson's a sweet looking ax

Axe is Axe, rigs are rigs...but these are definitely piquing my curiosity more and more as of late.

I have one, it's ALOT of fun, but it doesn't come close to the roar of the VH4 onstage...

That was my biggest battle . I used a half stack live for 25 years and switching to the snax was a shock onstage . Mainly because I use frfr QSC K series , comparing that to a 4x12 was very hard .
I have been able to tweak it through the FOH with great results . Compared to our other guitarist who uses tube heads it was just as crushing . That completely set my mind at ease .
I just got a QSC KW122 and its even better onstage now .

If you are going to play a lot of places with big PAs, an AxeFX seems like a good investment. It's probably more reliable to get your tone out of it, and volume would be virtually unlimited. I don't know if I'd replace a good half-stack with it if I knew I was going to be playing smaller places. Just the familiarity gap probably wouldn't be worth it. They aren't cheap, so it would have to represent a total changeover for me, personally.

I went through this adjustment period as well. However, the Axe through FRFR sounds waaaaaay better than a mic'd tube rig through monitors IMHO. Switching to the Axe has also "cleaned up" my stage sound, and I can place my monitor in the "sweet-spot" regardless of what stage I'm on. I'm by no means anti-tube amps, and I'll probably hang onto all my rigs just in case I change my mind at some point. The main thing I miss about not having a regular backline, is that it looks a lot cooler!

I'm seriously considering buying a Snax for home, a SLO and quad is a little overkill!

You can always get some washing machines :D

Did you sell all those beautiful guitars as well???

Dude don't tell me you like the Axe Fx more than the Diezels because I seriously can't believe that!
