The main thing I miss about not having a regular backline, is that it looks a lot cooler!

You can always get some washing machines :D

I assume you are referring to Geddy Lee of Rush and he used Dryers. :)

Geddy has switched to Orange tube bass amps from what I have read, he is no longer going direct....

Did you sell all those beautiful guitars as well???

Dude don't tell me you like the Axe Fx more than the Diezels because I seriously can't believe that!

As an Axe user......I can see him liking it over a Diezel not running the Axe FRFR but liking it over a cranked Plexi or Fender Bassman etc? Not so much.

I liked the Axe-Fx standard a lot more than the Einstein.

Its just another piece of gear. I don't want my sound to depend on my programming ability

I don't think we have seen any of the major amp manufacturers sales being impacted by an Axe FX. I would however come nearer using one with a power amp and and a cab than only FOH and a monitor. Otherwise, there's just not enough cool in it. :D

The axefx replacing amps I can understand, but the strat replacing those les pauls?
What kind of strat ?

My Snax has saved me so much money since I got it, it essentially was free. I simply cannot believe how many amazing amp deals I havent thought twice about buying since I got this thing, and that's not my norm.

I have gone into two things in my life very closed minded and come out amazed. One was a sleep study and the other was the Axe fx.

I now sleep with a cpap strapped to my face and if every single piece of gear I own was stolen, my very first call, the day of the robbery, would be to fractal.

I can easily see a Strat replacing any guitar, even the mighty LP. I don't get the LP thing. I have one, but even on its best day it is no match for any of my Strats. I do like how smooth and sustained it sounds with Recto high gain, but it doesn't have the character a good Strat has. Strats are just absolutely amazing guitars. Whenever I play mine, I am constantly amazed at the sounds they are capable of with different pickups (humbuckers and single coils). I also know that I'm in the minority when it comes to crazy Strat-love. I really can't understand why, but I think they are just meant for my hands. I totally get why EVH, EJ, Buddy Guy, and Dick Dale use Strats. They are wicked. If I need sustain, I'll just employ a comp pedal or boost.

I figured that's why a guitar played needed to use a washer - the dryer was taken.

No, I haven't sold anything... I just don't use any of this gear currently. I gig with an American Deluxe Strat & Axe-FX Ultra with the RCF 310a powered monitor.....

As far as the Diezels, or any of the other amps for that matter, I still think they're awesome! The Axe/Strat combo just works for me right now! :)
