I'm totally struggling to take this in..

I first started playing guitar when i was 7 years old, and Gary has been one of my biggest influences since day 1, both directly and indirectly.
My other biggest influences have always been Doug Aldrich, John Sykes and John Norum. Those guys were all totally inspired by Gary, and you can hear it written allover their playing. That alone shows just how much of a guitar god Gary really was.

I have always listened to Gary's music on a daily basis, it's rare that a week ever went by without me listening to his music.

I'm grateful that i was lucky enough to see Gary perform live several times, and he always put on an amazing show. I'm just feeling very sad that i will never get the chance to see him perform again now..

His music has had such a huge impact on me. Olaf, i can agree 100% with you because i also feel as though he was somehow a part of my life. Even though i never actually met him, i felt that connection through his music.

RIP Gary, you will be missed.

First heard him in 84/85 when a late night, music video show in Australia called Rage would play songs from his Emerald Isle live concert. I was never the same after seeing this guy in an orange jumpsuit just destroy that strat on the extended solo in Shapes of Things. Soon got Corridors of Power and loved the fusiony stuff as much as End Of The World, then Victims, Run For Cover etc. Have missed his fiery rock playing since he became a dedicated Blues Player. He was a huge influence not so much in playing fast but in playing with intensity and real passion. His vibrato, phrasing, rhythmic attack all made such an impression on me. Especially his playing with Lizzy.

Oh damn... I have got a gig on Monday at the very hotel where he passed away.

Our new set includes Still Got The Blues... What's your opinion on keeping it in? Or is better to take it out?

Keep it in as tribute.
