Hey guys im new to these forums so im not sure where this should go, but i have a quick question.

I'm going to buy a cab in the next few weeks, but am kind of on the fence about what to get. I have 2 cabs in mind, the Rivera K412T cab which is a 4x12 cab with vintage 30s or a mesa boogie cab which is also a 4x12 with vintage 30s but just a bit taller. I am going to mostly play thrash and some classic rock. What are your opinions? (Also the rivera cab is $150 cheaper.)

Thanks

They are both going to sound a bit different. They are both well made cabs. Besides that, the Rivera is going to be a bit lighter and smaller which makes it easier to move around if your going to be gigging or hauling your stuff around. These little things help if your moving your own gear alone. I've had both. I'd choose the Rivera. You buying new or used? Where do you live? what kind of amp?

Both cabs are in excellent condition and im not going to be using it for gigs...just for playing at home. I'm going to be running either a peavey 5150 II and/or a Mesa Boogie tripple rectifier. Like i said before the Rivera cab is about $150 bucks cheaper. I Already own a rivera cab and love it, but just kindn of on the fence on whether i should spring the extra cash for the Boogie or just take the Rivera Cab. The Rivera Cab is a sweet deal though.

I'd still go with the Rivera. Also, your Rivera cab is 16 ohms right? The Mesa is most likely 8 ohms. The new Rivera should be 16 ohms too. Get the Rivera and you'll be able to run both 4x12s. Now were moving some air and gettin some thump.
