I've owned three of them. Great amps. Compaired to today's amps, it's not a gain monster, but it has plenty for for hard rock. Listen to Slave to the Grind or any of the Saigon Kick albums (the TBR-1SL has the same lead channel). You can run the Slave Master like a third channel. I used to use it for my leads. Very cool idea.

I owned an M60 head for a while. Like all the other Riveras I've played, it had a great clean channel, and lots of cool functions, but not really high gain. It is, but, it's not tight or brutal.
It can't hold a candle to the EVH 5153 that I've settled on.

Got it used from guitarcenter for 600, but it is going back...not my cup of tea. However the amp is extremely well built and has many, many useful features.
