Joe Selby, the guitar player for Taddy Porter touts this amp and plays a 2x12 combo live. He gets a bitchen tone on their self titled cd and I am assuming he is using this amp....who knows for sure?? Anyway, anybody have first hand experience with this amp....good, bad, ugly...??

I owned a 2x12 Rivera Quiana a few years back and it sounded pretty good. I like the Rivera cleans but I could never jive with the overdrive channel, sounded a little boxy for my taste. It is also incredibly heavy and awkward to carry.

Standalone the rivera OD from these older models is indeed not that pleasant. But they really rule in the mix.

Yeah, I hear that all the time about Rivera, but I love them. I have two Riveras and have always been able to get good and great overdriven and high gain tones from pretty much all of their models....except for poorly maintained used ones. I have a Duarte model and KHR 55 now. I had an R30 back in the day and have played many new and used Riveras. They are pretty much my favorite amps.
