Well my new wife just told me that I could get a Diezel VH4. So this means I have to upgrade to midi, and I have no idea where to start. I really would like to just go with the multi-fx processors but I use a Timmy and a OCD and don't want to loose those. So should I just go with the RJM or GCX?

Or is there a small midi looper that I can put with the multi-fx processors to keep the timmy and the OCD?

If you want to incorperate the Timmy and OCD and midi them up with everything then Id go the RJM/GCX route but as a person who loves to use boosts, I can tell you that my GSP1101 has been a God send and when I a/b'ed my Tube screamer with the one that comes with the GSP, I ditched my Tube screamer.
My rig now consist of a Fortin Modded JVM, Digitech GSP1101, Control 2 Footswitch and a Boogie 2x12....DONE.
The GSP1101 switches my amp and effects on the fly via Midi and anytime I want a Boost, I use a Patch that I setup in the GSP Esiest rig Ive ever used.
When I used a GCX switcher it was a HUGE pain in the ASS dialing out all the ground loops and I had a shitload of patch cables patched everywhere. If you have Midi capability on your amp I find the GSP to be the easiest thing to use. All IMHO.

Personally I don't see the need for a boost/OD pedal with a VH4.

And you could also try to use the channel inserts with (probably different) pedals for boosting.

I'd hook a good multi fx unit to the Diezel, add a midi pedal (one which is able to run off Diezels phantom power for midi) and be done.

But thats me :D

I really just use my Timmy on the clean channel when I want just a little touch of dirt, so little that you can one tell with the bridge pickup. Its just a tone I love on a few songs we do. Just don't want to lose that. I really can do with out the OCD.

And I looked on the Digitech site and it doesn't say anything about tubescreamers or any drive pedals built in. just fx pedals and amp modules. Where can I find Info on that?

There are models of a 808, Boss SD, OD, DOD, . . .

Say if I'm using a Voodoo Ground Control Pro with the GSP1101 and the VH4. I would go midi from the pedal to the in on the VH4 then out of the VH4 to the in on the GSP1101?

I just found the Payne Labs K-Switch. Could I use that to keep my Timmy and OCD and use a effects processor?

Yes, for the pedals. For the processor it isn't necessary, because the VH4 has a midi switchable (on/off) loop (via midi) built in.

i use the gsp1101 with Diezel Herbert in 4 cable method....Flawless System!!!!!
