Just a heads-up for those of you who like RJM products. Ron has the Y-Not A/B/Y switcher shipping now. Just ordered me one to go with the Gizmo. It is MIDI controllable and compact as hell.

The threads and conversations come up from time to time on here about multiple amp configurations, the best amp switchers and switching - well, here you go. All transformer isolated to keep the buzz away. Hope it is a good one, and I suspect it will be.

Here's a link and Ron's online store is now up and running as well.

RJM stuff is awesome! I'm planning on picking up the Mini Amp Gizmo for my rig soon, to control any relay functions on my amp mods.

The A/B/Y switcher looks top notch

That looks great, but I have to wonder if the tone changes or not. I have a few laying around here that I hate because they change the tone of the guitar more than I can stand :aww: Will wait for someone to test drive it

Any tone changes will be due to buffers and impedance matching circuits. The Little Labs unit I use normally enables one to adjust impedance, therefore volume, but it is not switchable. I will give a heads-up on the RJM unit when I get it.

Yep, thanks Mike for turning me on to RJM back when the Bones was being built. Ron has some good stuff and has some more trick gear coming our way. Sent him a few suggestions a while back as he seems to take an innovative approach.

Thats interesting because my Langner has an input impedance issue with passive pups that this unit would solve, Todd calibrated it for use with EMG's because everything I had at that point had EMG's in them, but I have gotten away from active pups. The Voodoo switcher I bought looked great on paper- ground lifts, xformer isolated, a lot of the same features, but there is a noticable difference in the tone by the time it gets to the amp. It lost some sparkle and definition. I have it sitting in the box with 30 minuites of use on it. Been real reluctant to do that again. I will standby and await your report sir :D

Yes, that Voodoo switcher is a piece of shit, up there with Whirlwind. Lehle makes a good unit that is also Midi switchable. I like Ron's products though and he is readily available to answer any questions. I generally find stuff that isn't mass produced and made in China is a little better. Bradshaw's stuff is at the top of the heap to, and as a matter of fact he is building me a custom switcher and rack interface. That is going on 4 months now with a 50% deposit. I have tried them all for using multiple amps. But, if the Y-Not is like the other goods that Ron makes, it should be a good one.

Is it foot switchable and midi switchable, or just midi?

Late to the party here, but I can provide some answers:

With the buffer, iso transformer and inverter off, the circuit is passive, so tone change is very minimal. Adding in those features adds more stuff in the circuit, but I tried to have that stuff impact tone as little as possible. The buffer is the same as in the RG-16 and Effect Gizmo, and is pretty well regarded for not messing with tone too much.

The Y-Not can be controlled by the front panel buttons (of course), MIDI program changes, MIDI CC messages or an external two-button footswitch (pretty much any standard one will do, with LEDs or not). You can use any of these interchangeably. On a two button footswitch, one button will switch between A and B outputs, and the other button will turn on both (overriding the A/B button).
