Anyone know a company selling road cases for the EVH 5150 III 50 watt head??? I want to get a custom case built with a 4 space rack unit to house my pedals and gear. Any suggestions?

Gator just came out with some cases, but it will only fit the head. No 4 space rack attached.

Got a couple quotes for literally EXACTLY what you are talking about... roadcase for the head and 4 rack spaces above it... contacted about 4 different companies... i'll forward you the message from the company that ended up being the cheapest... PM inbound...

Actually sure I don't see why not LoL....

I contacted 4 or 5 companies... I honestly can't remember the names except for Brady Cases because they were the cheapest at around $540.00 for the entire build... most companies don't care that the head is a bit smaller and the entire thing will be a bit smaller... they are still going to charge you the standard price for a "Head+Rack" type road case...

....their shipping costs were also like 1/3 of the cost of other companies... they only wanted $50 for shipping...

.... I've had road cases built before, they are NOT cheap... but they were cool guys... I didn't end up ordering the case, and they actually E-mailed me like 3 weeks later to ask if I still wanted it, because I never followed up on their reply E-mail... pretty nice dudes...

Can you link to these cases?

If anybody gets a 4-6U rack/50w roadcase built, please share pics and specs, and especially WEIGHT. The road cases I've had were too heavy to be practical, but for a smaller, with a shallow rack with only 4-6 spaces, it might not weight too much. It might be cool to have tilt-back wheels instead of regular casters too.

I'm looking for a case for just the head. So far, I've looked at affordable cases and roadkill cases. Both seem pretty decent and around $250 for higher end cases.

Any other ideas?

I bought my road case for my 5150III 100 watt from Safe Case out of Texas. Good price and better built than the usual ebay case sellers (affordable cases, Island cases, NYcase, etc.)

They offer a 50 watt version now for 199 with free shipping.

My 100 watt Safe Case is huge, thick and nice. It has a decent amount of mass to it, which makes the already heavy 100 watt pretty unbearable, but I'd imagine it would be a lot better with the 50 watt. I'll be getting a case for mine soon hopefully. For now, I'm using a rolling gator "fit all" head case for my 50 watt EVH.

I can vouch for safe cases...bought one for a triple rectifier awhile ago.

Check out absolute road cases up here in Pennsylvania they custom bios whatever u want. They built me cases for my diezel cab n head w 4 spaces n storage. Go onfacebook check there page. Tom Godin is the guy.

Does anyone know whether the EVH 5150 III 100w head will fit into a mkI 5150 block capital flight case? I have one for my old Peavey 5150 and I'll be retiring that amp to the studio and taking the new one out on the road, so if it fits there's no point in paying £££'s for a new case! Also, anyone know of any companies based in the UK or Europe making road cases (with wheels) for the 5150 III 4x12?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
Rich

Not at all. The evh 5150III is a much bigger amp. A quick Google spec check would reveal that.

For a simpler, cheaper option why not see if you can have a custom bracket done to rack mount the head. If it is taken out of the headshell it should fit into a rack width. You might be able to mount it to a solid shelf in the rack, or have a metal bracket that screws into the rack rails, has holes lined up for the same mounting holes that hold it into the headshell, and you would want it to cover the whole bottom of the amp for shielding.

Cheaper, simpler, and lighter.

safe cases rule, bought one from them custom sized was built amazing and the price was even better..

I am about 80 percent complete with my new mini rig with a rack mounted EVH 50 watt head. You can check out more at amplifya.com. Here is a photo...
