Thanks Dave. Yeah, hbe, saturation on, but I had the gain backed off to maybe 12:00.

That rocked man! Hoping to get some more time with my KS this week!

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment guys...I cant wait to get this amp in the studio next month, its gonna be killer!

I have a HG 100 and this HBE/BE mod seems really nice sounding. How does it work on the Rocca when it has only one input? Is it still possible to have all teh options with only one input?

Actually, Dave added another input on the front panel. Very tight fit, matter of fact, certain cables wont plug into the HBE input, but he didnt have much choice. There just isnt much room to add an input on the front.

right, I think there is enough space on mine to go horizontal to the original input but not vertical. Any problems with the amp feeding back?

No, no problems at all. I wouldnt hesitate to do it if your looking for a different voicing in the amp. I mean, the Rocca has quality components for sure, and I love Dougs stuff, but my amp just needed more gain for what I like to do, and I didnt want to use a pedal.

Any other clips? Does it clean up decently with guitar volume?

I was tempted to send Dave my '76 JMP but I think I'm going to return that one to a stock configuration. I have a Custom 40 I use at practice... Maybe I'll put that one under the knife? I had contacted Roccaforte some time ago about a gain mod and an effects loop, but he didn't seem too interested in doing any mods.

All the mods/voicings, BE, HBE and the C45 will clean up very well when you roll down the guitar's volume pot; especially when you don't dime the gain. I think the C45 cleans up the best for me, then the BE. I'm a volume knob rider for rhythm and leads, so it works killer with my KS modded 100 watt JMP. It MAY depend on your pickups, though. If you use super-high gainers or EMGs, etc., it may not clean up as well...

I also had Dave Bray mod a SLP RI for me and I liked it, but I think the KS modded JMP is way more versatile and has more/different tones than a one-trick pony, even though it's really just a one-channel amp. And that's NOT knocking Bray's work, he's really good too! Listen to his sound clips, the amp I got from him modded was dead-on to his clips.
