rock n roll relics guitar... heard ?

has anyone whom had tried rock n roll relic guitars wonder hows the tone like ? i know its small boutique guitar luthier based off gibson jr and gibson sg... just how the tone is like compared to the original gibson ?

I LOVE Rock and Roll Relic guitars!!! I've got 2 and soon to have 3! Tones and feel are vintage!both of mine a Richards double bound Tele and a Thunders 2 which is a LP style have David Allen pup's which are killer!!! I highly recommend Billy's work!! I don't do forums well as far as uploading pics but if you PM me I can email pics and chat! My third is going to be a Bruce Kulick lp jr model can't wait!!! I will also say the Thunders is everything I love about a LP without everything I dislike about an LP!!! cheers!!

A buddy got the "thunders" which is supposed to be like Johnny thunders tv jr and the neck was HUGE. I mean biggest I have ever played , way bigger then my 58 jr. He had to get a tech to set it up (trussrod adj and intonation) but overall it was nice and sounded good. I think he had to pay extra for the case which I thought was weird but who knows.

The thunders 2 which is a single cut double humbucker LP set up pulls gibson tones all day. I traded a beautiful 2011 LP Traditonal ice tea burst and I couldn't be happier!! My Thunders 2 has the D. Allen Powerage pups that have a Vintage LP tone which I love, think Thin Lizzy! If your ordering you can get any neck profile as far as I understand! Mine came with a 59 profile that's not too fat but not a pencil either and a case. Call or email Billy direct very cool to deal with!! Also the fret work and feel is amazing! I've had more tweeking and defects from any of my gibson's than any of my RnR Relics!! Brand new Bill K Explorer already in for lacquer repair around the tuning posts! I love the guitar but quality control at gibson is hit or miss! Also I'm not into phenaulic or ritchlite fretboard materials. What Model are you looking at hopkinWFG? Cheers

oh yeah... thanks for the pointers gadzz.. well i been actually a 24 fret player am more metal kinda guy and thing is i been wanting to get something traditional that gibson crunch tone which sounded so cripsy so clear and hot at crunchier side ... lol sorry i been thinking of something thats worth money with good specs... and rnr seems to have the ebony board option i want.. gibson has gone richlite which i think it personally has to be of certain material thats valuable since its like 4k each for a gibson custom. but what am looking is to getta good gibson tone...

previously as i wonder if a heritage does good but now rnr tone seems to take my ears off maybe its the pickup too ... i may wanna look at an LP design with ebony fb.. or been thinking of a white sg with ebony fb .. both guitars are iconic in history..

Is it me or does the neck pickup on the thunders II and the sg look like it is placed further back towards the bridge then the original gibsons?

If money is no problem go Knaggs!! Keya 24 fret great guitar!! Also the Thunders neck pickup is set back more than a LP.
